MMA Fighter's Strength and Conditioning Workouts Today
MMA technique can no longer stand alone as the only dominant force required to excel in this sport! Fighters like Georges St. Pierre, Uriah Faber and even legends like Frank Shamrock have dominated many fights with extreme athleticism and outstanding conditioning. Now highly technical fighters are having to adopt and model these fighters conditioning level just to keep up!
There are a millions of workouts available that you can research on the Internet. I had to learn the hard way about some common misconceptions going around about MMA workouts however. I've numbered what I learned in hopes you don't have to go the same route I did.
1) What ya see on TV is not always what ya get!
The TV camera loves to show videos of famous fighters doing their exciting & unique conditioning movements. While this is inspiring, I've noticed the camera only tends to film the interesting workouts and not necessarily the ones that build the best foundation.
2) Just because a famous fighter does a workout, does not mean you should.
The workout you look up on the Internet that has a famous fighters name next to it may be insightful but be careful not to build your whole routines around those workouts. I found that famous athletes have utilized hundreds of different workouts and routines that got them where they are today. They did not arrive there by the single workout listed next to their name.
3) Learn the points or purpose of each workout or movement first.
I realized that once I understood the purpose of each movement or exercise, I could eventually mix up my workouts with variety. My mistakes started when I randomly modeled workouts without my own real understanding, purpose or long term agenda.
4) Gain your own understanding
There are multiple purposes for cardio and strength and there are even different categories for each. By learning about what strength I am lacking in, I can adjust to that category and use only the correlating exercises. This same rule goes with cardio work.
5) Build your foundation, Boring or not, it's necessary!
Years ago, I wanted to build my body to look great. I went to the gym and looked in magazines. I noticed bicep curls and other interesting movements. I later found good sources that explained, specialization comes later, build your base first! For MMA, core strength, stability and injury prevention is crucial!
6) If available, use a source that understands both fitness and MMA.
Believe it or not, finding a great MMA coach does not ensure optimal strength and conditioning efficiency. The body is an entire science by itself. Some coaches are great at technique, drills etc. but don't really know how to stabilize a body from the ground up. Fitness coaches do nothing but specialize in this.

I researched sources for you to look at that may help you very much as far as MMA strength and conditioning workouts and routine methods go.

Fighters who possess this advanced athleticism are known for the following
- Rarely if ever get gassed in a fight!
- Demonstrate constant explosive energy and strength over opponents!
- Strike with above average force & coordination!
- Tend to be extremely fast! They don't just rely on strength!
- Are very adaptable! They meet the needs of any random challenge in a fight!
Few fighters today are truly adaptable. Hard training isn't enough and work ethic isn't enough. This full ability comes as a result of smart training, efficient training and fully balanced training!
There are hundreds of thousands of MMA students training in their gyms today but few truly know what they're doing. To be brutally honest, most of them are waisting energy on less valuable concepts of training and most of them are completely unaware about where their faults in training lie.

MMA Program designer, Eric Wong, has directly helped Athletes make it all the way to the UFC via his advanced conditioning methods. I like that he is on the cutting edge of conditioning and is willing to share his expertize in both MMA requirements and Physical Fitness.
Obtain the advantages in training that enable: explosive strength, endless cardio & top muscle coordination with smooth agility and quick speed!
Training like everyone else means you'll fight like everyone else.
The details are crucial and the motive behind each movement is crucial.

Strength and Conditioning Was a Priority By The Great Martial Arts Legends
Adaptability is becoming key as the ultimate objective
MMA Strength & Conditioning Workouts Are Scientific And Require Special Ballance!

So how adaptable are you, physically speaking, and where are the weak links in your body's ability?
Are your workouts ballanced, calculated and charted long term or are they just sporadic exercises that occur randomly?
I made the mistake of jumping on specific MMA exercises way too fast! I did not have a proper understanding of the movements to begin with and i was putting way to much energy into the wrong areas. Because no one taught me the science of strength, cardio and fitness for MMA, my ability in fights suffered.
Study The Science of MMA Strength And Conditioning Workouts To Maximize Ability!
Did you know there are different types of cardio and different types of strength?I use to think conditioning was just about getting stronger and having better stamina. I had no idea about the intricacies of fitness and how learning the different types can blow your fitness through the roof!
Once i was taught the truth about developing cardio fitness and striking power for MMA, I stopped waisting my time on less effective methods and my fighting ability became explosive and fluid!
Study the complete science of the body and adapt that to MMA. That way you can strengthen your weak areas and begin to dominate fights because your body will be able to express technique fully.
In Bruce Lee's words, You will flow or crash just like water!!
