Almost all of us love our Phones these days. Research shows that we are now prepared to spend far more money per month on our Phones than at any time in the past five years. A family of 5 with three teenage children can have quite a frightening phone bill every month, this seems to be a growing trend, more and more households seem to be prepared to spend higher amounts of cash on phones for all the family members.
A huge majority of us would feel totally lost without our phones as well as totally gutted when the network operator tell us they want hundreds before they will send you a new phone, as you had not taken out phone Insurance!

We all love our Mobile Phones, many of us will ever leave home without one. Some never leave one room of the house without our loved Mobile Phone in hand!But what happens when things go wrong? Can you afford to instantly purchase another Mobile Phone? If you were given a free mobile when you took out a new air-time contract you will very likely be very shocked at how much cash your network provider may want before they send you a replacement phone.
Take the hugely popular Nokia N8 Black, I walked into the Vodafone Shop in Gloucester on 20/12/2010 and asked how much would it cost to purchase a replacement N8 if I did not have insurance protection, I was quoted £510 - Wow, five hundred and ten pounds, that's mad money!
You may think you will never loose my phone because its always in your hand / pocket / bag, but did you know back in 2006 (remember there will be far more mobiles in circulation this year) how many mobile phones were ruined by water damage alone?
Six Hundred Thousand landed in the lavatory!
Four Hundred Thousand got dropped into drinks!
Two Hundred Thousand were thrown into washing machines! - Accidents DO Happen!
So that's well over a million mobiles ruined by water damage in just one year. You may have iPhone Insurance for your phone, but, did you know this important fact?
There are some Insurance policy providers who exclude Water Damage form there cover! How mad does that sound and why would an insurance company want to do that?
Well, rightly or wrongly, its all about risk factors and profit margins at the end of the day. As these insurance company's exclude certain elements of risk from iPhone Insurance on the quiet (by hiding exclusions in the small print) they are effectively guaranteeing profits at the end of the year!
To save the most money you should compare your mobile phone Insurance online, as you will almost always find it cheaper than it is available on the high street. -iPhone owners will normally save around 50% in the UK!

- Great lens, you can get insurance from your cell phone company right? When you purchase your phone? It isn't a bad idea. People are just afraid of wasting money. You are right, it is possible that nothing will happen, but there is an equal chance that something will happen so it is in your best interest to be protected. Also, if you don't have life insurance, that is something that you should get as soon as possible, my lens is all about it, but also you could just go to this site. i really like their deals on coverage. http://www.onedollarglobeinsurance.com

- I never thought about water damage to a cell phone. I guess it happens especially if you are the sports type with boating, etc. Funny humor, too! :-)

Yeah we all depend on our phones. my life is in my phone. and here in our country phone thieves are everywhere. so we really have to be ready. don't show off your phones if you don't wanna loose it.

- My husband hates mobile phones so much that they just break on their own accord. Once he left it out charging at night, it was just sitting on the table. But he was annoyed at a phone call he had received just before bed. In the morning, the screen was completely cracked for no reason, after just sitting there on the table!
Does insurance cover that?
