What is Mobile Internet
Mobile Internet is access to Web using a mobile device that is connected to a wireless network. In 2008, mobile access exceeded desktop computer-based access to the internet for the first time users can connect to the internet wirelessly using devices like Smartphones, wireless USB sticks, or laptops with integrated wireless cards.
Accessing the Internet from a portable device has numerous benefits, the largest of which is that it allows a user to surf the Web and handle emails from many locations without the use of wires. While traveling, business executives are able to perform key duties that would have been impossible to do prior to this invention. Services, such as GPS, allow users to get detailed maps and turn by turn directions to any desired destination.
In such a hectic world, utilizing mobile Internet technology means that an individual never needs to be out of touch or without vital information. Data and directions can be found by simply doing an Internet search from a smartphone or laptop. Checking emails is no longer something that can be done only from a home or office computer wired to a phone or cable line.

Where to Get Mobile Internet
There are many places where individuals can get mobile Internet and not all are public locations. Users who have a laptop or smartphone with wireless capabilities can enable their devices to seek out the wireless networks available within the area. These users should be aware that the information transferred across these networks is not always secure. Users who have wireless routers within their homes can access a wireless Internet signal using both their computers and cell phones.
Wireless hotspots are sites that use Wi-Fi technology to provide individuals with Internet access. Hotspots are frequently found in coffee shops, auto repair facilities, airports, libraries, book stores, colleges, and campgrounds. A free Wi-Fi hot spot requires only that the user have a wireless card or smartphone wireless capabilities. The device will seek out wireless signals in the area and the user can then connect to the desired one. Closed hot spots usually require that users pay a fee or enter an authentication code in order to access the network. Some closed hot spots may limit the amount of bandwidth available to each user in order to make sure that all who need access can get it.
Types of Mobile Internet Devices
Smartphone users can subscribe to a data plan through their cell phone carriers and this will allow them to access the Internet. Carriers offer different tiers of plans with costs that are dependent on the amount of data access included. Some carriers offer unlimited data plans that are suitable for heavy Internet and email users.
Cell phone and Internet carriers sell USB laptop connect sticks or laptops with built-in Internet access. The laptops they sell have an included 3G mobile broadband modem that will connect users directly to the Internet. Those who purchase the laptop stick just need to plug it into the USB port of their own laptop in order to begin surfing the Web.
Users that have a laptop with an integrated wireless card can access the Internet using only the device. The wireless card will enable the computer to pick up a signal from open wireless networks, other places that provide free wireless access, and Wi-Fi hotspots in sites like coffee shops and airports. A laptop containing an integrated wireless card is one of the most convenient mobile Internet devices because it allows the user to access, edit, and attach any necessary documents to an email.
