Go mobile with agricultural information at your fingure tips

In Africa, the need for timely information to take decisions that will make farming a more productive and profitable activity has long been underscored. Agricultural-sector stakeholders are demanding information on new technologies including quality seed, effective pest and disease control methods, accessible markets, fair prices and quality products. Much of this information is available from research scientists, extension workers, trainers and even farmers. A mobile agricultural information system that promotes access to information for people in remote areas (as long as they have access to working mobile phones and/or hand held devices such as computers) has been piloted to solve this problem and is being piloted for stakeholders in the East African region. This lense describes the system. Read on!
