WHAT IS A MOBILE NOTARY SIGNING AGENT
A notary signing a agent is a person that is contacted by a lending institution or a 3rd party company handleing the documents for a lending institution. The notary after being contacted receives the documents either by email or logging onto the lenders site or through a courier. The notary then travels to the clients home or business saving the client a trip a closing company and making it easier for the client if they happen to work. The notary sits with the client and go's through the documents and (not giving any legal or professional advie) have the documents signed and notarized and sent back to the lender.

Resources for being a Notary
How to become a notary
The first step in becoming a notary signing agent is you have to be a notary. The best place to find information on becoming a notary is the National Notary Association Web Site. Each state has its own rules and regulations on becoming a notary. Most of the time it is just taking a online class and filling out an application and mailing it to the state, along with a small fee. For more detailed information about becoming a Notary in your state go to the web site I provided above and use there drop down menu and find your state and get the detailed instruction of how to become a Notary.
Why I became a Notary Signing Agent
A few year back my family and I moved back to central Florida. I became a realtor and with out knowing any one in the town we moved into I was struggling to make ends meet. At the time the mortgage busines was going through the roof and mortgage loan officers were knocking our doors down clamering with greed for our business. A co-realtor that took me under her wing was constantly busy running in and out going to appointments and I thought she was doing this for listings, but to my surprise she was closing loans. So I asked her one day about what she was doing since I had never heard of this type of business. She opened up her notary log and showed me all of her signings for the month and the dollar signs behind them and almost fell on the floor. She was averaging around $300 - $400 a day and raking in the referrals in real estate from her notary appointments. You dont have to be a rocket scientist that I needed to ask more questions about this business opportunity. This mentor of mine in real estate now was my mentor in becoming a notary signing agent. While I was waiting for my application to become a notary was being approved (which only took a couple of weeks) she was having me go out on singings with her to see how the process took place. In our real estate office in this small horse and buggy town we had six other signing agents. This worked out great, our phones were ringing off the hook to go out and doing signings and if we were tied up we could referr the signing over to someone else in the office that was not busy.
Most people think that being a realtor you are rich, but after you pay everyone (broker, lender, advertising and etc.) you barely have two nickels to rub together. The income that you can make from being a notary signing agent can be really good if you want to put the time in going to appointments, it is totally up to you.
How to become a Mobile Notary Signing Agent
Now that you are a Notary and you want to become a singing agent there are a few things you need to know. Not in every state can a notary sign loan documents, make sure you research out your state before you jump into this career. Most states it is legal for a notary to sign loan documents but make sure before you proceed.
As you are surfing the net and doing your research you will see a lot of information about becoming a certified notary signing agent. One thing these companys do not explain is that you do not need to be certified to do loan closings. Of course it is better for marketing yourself as a certified notary siging agent but it is not necessary.
Most of the time your documents will come to you as an electronic attachment through the email. You must have a good computer with a lot of memory and a excellent laser printer loaded with memory. You will make your money back for this outlay with 2 or 3 signings (depending on your area). This too will be a good marketing tool also, showing that you have the equipment to handle their documents.
The amount of signings you do kind of depends on the financial markets in the country. Right now as I am writing, the mortgage industry is slow so there is not that many signings taking place. A couple of years ago we could not keep up with the signings, and the market is starting to get hot again. If you are thinking about this business I would take the time right now and do my research and get my notary license and possibily go for my certification

Bankruptcy Processing
Another business that an Notary Signing Agent can do is called; Bankruptcy Processing
A bankruptcy processor assists an attorney by preparing bankruptcy petitions, pleadings, motions and other court documents. Bankruptcy processors also collect accurate and reliable information about the attorney's client for filing a bankruptcy case.
"In bankruptcy cases, notarizing documents applies. However, Notaries also use their qualities of ethics and professionalism," said Gary Drury, head of the AnnieMae Cooperative. "It is paramount that information remains confidential and that the bankruptcy processor refrains from any unauthorized practice of law."
Bankruptcy processors have no jurisdictional limits, so they have the freedom to prepare documents for attorneys practicing law in any state.
Notaries are given priority in these and many other fields mainly because their integrity has already been established, even though a Notary commission is not always necessary.
