Everyone Needs a Good Laugh
A sense of humor has helped me get through my times in jobs in corporate America, the national disaster known as the Bush Years and just life in general. Here's some lenses that, in a way, document the lighter moments in my life.
My Own Favorites
Spoonerisms was Lens of the Day on 11/8/08 and received a Purple Star on 12/28/10. Ground Fog Day is an attempt to establish a new holiday, a la Talk Like a Pirate Day. Have Pun Will Travel (five lenses) is a look at my online past with the help of some friends who gave permission for me to use their old posts. Hay Visage form Sane Ticklish is a "translation" of a Christmas poem.
Humorous Authors
Bill Bryson travels in America, Europe, English and history. Molly Ivins was known for her sharp political humor. Sarah Vowell has made America and its history fascinating reading. Spider Robinson brings puns and other humor to science fiction.
Online Comic Strips
Girls With Slingshots is a slice-of-life comic by Danielle Corsetto about two girls, a bar, and a talking cactus. Tom Tomorrow does the weekly comic This Modern World in a retro 50s advertising style with an up-to-date point of view. Both lenses have RSS feeds to the latest cartoons.
Novelty Songs
Novelty Songs is about humorous popular songs and is also a lensography pointing to video showcases for several masters of the genre.
