Mochi can be Cooked and served in Many Ways

At first, I thought that mochi is cooked only boiling and steaming it. But I was wrong!!! I only thought of mochi the boiled/steamed rice balls and also mochi ice cream! When I learned more about Mochi, I found out that Mochi can be cooked in Several Ways.

FRIED MOCHI

Fried Mochi are crispy outside then soft and sticky inside. I have tried some of these and they're really delicious!! But be warned - don't eat too much as there are lots of oil in that!!

FRIED MOCHI WITHOUT OIL

Seriously??!!! Frying without oil? I found this from www.champuru.net. I think I will still like this because first there's no oil and I think the outer part will also be as crunchy as the deep fried mochi.

GRILLED MOCHI

I wonder if the outside part will be also crispy if mochi is grilled. Hmmm will have to try this one sooon!!

MOCHI WITH FRESH FRUITS INSIDE

If you're a fresh fruit lover and you also love mochi, it would be nice if you can make a snack with fruit and mochi together. I have found out that aside from ice cream balls, you can also make fresh fruits as fillings for mochi. Some fruits that can be used as mochi fillings are strawberries, melon, papaya and MORE!!

MOCHI SHAPED AND FILLED WITH DIFFERENT FILLINGS

I found this from starbulletin .com here's the description for this box of mouthwatering mochi.
Top row, from left: Nantu mochi (filled with an, dipped in soy-bean flour),
sweet-potato mochi, traditional white mochi, yaki manju (baked) and tsumami mochi (green, filled with an).

Row 2: Momo (peach) mochi, furusato manju (baked with sweet-potato filling), chi chi mochi (soft, milk-flavored), plum flower (red for good luck, with red azuki-bean filling) and sweet-potato mochi.

Row 3:Plum flower, nantu mochi, azuma manju (baked, topped with walnut), peach mochi, traditional white.

Row 4: Clam (summer specialty), tsumami mochi, pie-crust manju, lilikoi mochi and yaki manju.

Buchi is also fried mochi with sweet red bean paste filling and sesame seeds outside. This is delicious too. There are lots of this here in our place.
