The Adrian Flux guide to the UK modified car scene.
Adrian Flux Insurance loves modifed, maxed-up, pimped-over, customised rides. We're one of the UK's biggest insurer of modified cars. We'll even cover NOS. And yes, we do offer some of the best deals anywhere. But just as importantly, we are BETTER too - we'll cover many modifieds (and drivers) that most insurers won't touch.
If you're a modster, you might have trouble insuring your car. And the more you max it up, the more difficult you might find it to get good insurance cover. So give us a call FREE on 08000 83 88 33.
The hottest lists of modding websites
- Flux's own HUMONGOUS List Of Modster Links
- The daddy of all links lists is our own Adrian Flux site itself. Hundreds of modsters, mags, clubs etc from our own database, to click & go.
- KeepCruizin list
- KeepCruizin is the biggest site for Modified Cars, and this is probably the second-biggest link list after our own.
Modding gatherings
- TRAX 2006 - Silverstone Circuit
- One of the biggest mod shows - organised by Future Publishing.
- Modded UK 2006
- The Kent Modified Car Show, at Detling nr Maidstone.
- Modified Nationals
- Our fave modded show, at Rockingham racetrack near Corby. 2007 will be its 7th year. Sponsored by a great little company you might have heard of...
- French Car Show 2007
- The Seventh Annual French Car Show - sponsored by Adrian Flux Insurance, naturally...
Happy customers
- Jo's MySpace page
- Jo says Flux "quote me happy!":
... "lots of modifications to my lovely little purple fiesta and my current insurance company won't insure the car with the mods on (haha their loss) so I got a quote from Adrian Flux modified car insurance and it's actually 10 quid cheaper than my current one! wooooooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Magazines for modders
- Max Power
- "Passionate about performance" they say - and they are. Take it from us, these guys are hot about modding.
- Fast Car
- "The World's Best Modified Car Mag", they say. Well, they would, wouldn't they? :-)
- Custom Car
- "The UK's best selling Hot Rod magazine". Can't argue with that. Circulation figures don't lie.
- Evo
- "Evo - for the thrill of driving". Focusing more on the driving rather than the modding, really. But still has its place in our list.
- Kit Cars
- A great mag, which brings us a lot of business. But their website is more about highlighting the contents of the magazine than adding extra content. A good index of back issues.
- Redline Magazine
- For those who aren't happy until their engines are running at their limit.
- Modified Motors Magazine
- The leading Irish modding magazine.
- Performance GTi Magazine
- For all French car modding addicts. That's modding of French cars, not Frenchmen modding their cars...
How not to modify your car
- Barry Boys
- "Upsetting Cruisers since 2002" sez the strapline. "Over 32,000 photos of shit-looking cars" is the proud boast.
- Top Gear's 'Carbage' pages
- "Top Gear is here to ridicule the clueless by bringing you the best chavved-up motors and tasteless tat. Welcome, then, to Carbage."

What about Top Gear as a modded motor mag? Might not only do modifieds, but it's the one I get.
Forums for modders
- uk.rec.cars.modifications
- The best of the uk.rec.cars newsgroups. A lot of general chat about modding, not focused on any one marque. Featuring some great guys, and some who are always slagging us off. We hear them all.
- Max Power forums
- Phew! So many separate areas here.

I spend too much time thinking about how to insure customers' modified cars for less, and not enought about global warming.
But that does...
