MODx, the perfect small business content management system

As a web designer and programmer, I'm VERY picky when it comes to software, especially if I'm going to use it for my business. Before I will use something, let alone recommend it, it has to prove that it is easy to use, standards compliant, and very expandable.

I've worked with countless software products that were either too hard to use or too limiting, and both cases quickly lead to frustration.

I've been using MODx for several months now on many different websites, and I can say without a doubt that it is the best CMS I've ever come across.

It's templating system is extremely easy to work with, which is important because as a web designer I don't want to have to spend any extra time modifying my designs to work in a specific CMS. With MODx I just copy, paste, add a few tags, and the design is ready to go!

MODx is also standards compliant. I believe 100% in using standards compliant HTML and CSS code, and MODx allows me to do it right out of the box.

Finally, MODx is nearly infinitely expandable. I have yet to think of a unique feature I'd like that can't be quickly and easily added on to MODx. Everything from Google Analytics, to custom features like different banners on different pages can be set up in a matter of minutes.

In short, MODx is the ONLY content management system I can recommend to my clients -- it's just that good. And I'm not getting paid to say that either... MODx is free and open source.
