Don't accept anything less than that. - It is your health!
So you found out a mold issue at your house or office and it is too big to just remove it by yourself.
You need to contact a remediation company, but you are not sure about the right procedire and if the company that you hire will deliver the best service.
In my experience over the years with many remediation companies and hundreds of mold removal projects I have made a list of procedures that needs to be in every job:
1. Set up containment barrier to control the affected area and prevent cross-contamination to unaffected areas.
2. Set up Negative air pressure inside the containment area. Set up a dehumidifier.
3. Create a safe cleaning chamber and a chamber hallway to safely remove the affected materials.
4. Removal of the source. Right after the above steps you need to start with the removal of the mold source. It might be drywall, cabinet, or carpet.
5. HEPA vacuum the entire containment area, cleaning and hallway chambers. HEPA vacuum all surfaces, walls, floor and ceiling.
6. Sanitized and disinfect the entire containment area, cleaning and hallway chambers. Wipe down all surfaces, walls, floor and ceiling.
7. Monitor the project every day for the next 3 days. Check for humidity and temp levels of the area and the materials.
8. Turn of the machines after 72 hours for another 48 hours.
9. Have a different company- a mold testing company to make a clearance test of the affected area.
10. After the good results that confirm the removal of the mold you can remove the containment and the machines.
