Turn Your Mommy Blog Into a Moneymaker!
Why not turn those efforts into a money machine? A free blog can be your entryway into launching your own online business, and it's not only inexpensive to start - it's easy, too!
Blogging is one hobby that can prove very lucrative for moms. In fact, you may already be sitting on a goldmine and just not know it. You don't have to learn any professional maneuvers to start blogging for bucks - just implement some earning opportunities and learn how to promote your blog!
There are four steps to begin blogging for money with your newly minted title of Mompreneur:
1.) Set up a blog.
2.) Register for an Associates or Affiliate account.
3.) Blog frequently.
4.) Promote your blog!
That's all there is to it - and I'm going to provide you with more details about how to achieve each step in the mini lessons below. Soon, you'll be watching your bank account fill up from something you love to do anyway - blog about your family, your little ones, and life's trials and tribulations!
Step 1: Set Up Your Blog
Setting up a basic blog for money is fairly simple. It doesn't take any extreme technical prowess. You have two options when setting up your Mommy Brag Blog. You can either go the free route, using a WordPress or Blogger blog platform - or pay under $10 a year for a domain of your own and under $10 a month for a hosting account so that you can have a blog on your very own domain! To set up a free blog, visit WordPress.com or Blogger.com and follow the simple sign-up steps. You can then choose a theme to match the layout and design that you want to have for your blogging purposes.
If you prefer to have the blog hosted on your own domain (recommended), which helps you exude authority to your readers, then go to a site like GoDaddy.com and register for the domain name only. Don't get hosting there. Get a baby plan at HostGator instead.
Once your domain is purchased, point the DNS servers to your new hosting account and log into your hosting account to click the Fantastico button, which allows you to implement a WordPress blog right on your domain.
Find a free or paid WordPress theme online that you like and unzip the file folder. Using an FTP client, drag the folder into your server so that your new blog theme shows up on your site. Then just log in and start adding content to your professional blog.

"I just started my own blog earlier this year. It's been quite a learning experience, one that would not have been so painful if i had read this book first. If i had, i would have learned how to find the right *me* tone, where to get inspiration from, how to get people wide and far to come to my blog, and how to handle comments good and bad. Oh, and mix the perfect martini. I had such fun reading this book, I recommend it for anyone who wants a blog that's all that and a pair of Jimmy Choos."

Step 2: Register for an Associates or Affiliate Account!
There are several types of offers you can make to your loyal audience that will help you earn money as a Mommy Blogger!1.) Become an Associate for Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, you can recommend everything from diapers (cloth or disposable) to baby clothes, books, toys and more! Let's say your child got a Radio Flyer Wagon for Christmas. Blog about how much he or she liked it and hyperlink to it on Amazon using your Associates ID. If the reader buys for their own child, you get a commission on it! And Amazon isn't the only place to promote tangible items - you can also try ShareaSale.com, LinkShare.com, and CJ.com, too!
2.) Promote or sell digital downloads. A digital download is an eBook, audio, or video files that's sold to people online. Maybe you're a Mom who knows how to beat colic - write a short report about it and sell it online through your blog! Or, promote someone else's product who helped you overcome that tough time. Go to ClickBank.com or PayDotCom.com to get a free affiliate account today!
3.) Promote CPA offers! Moms like free trials. It's like having a coupon in hand, isn't it? You can get paid whenever a reader of your blog signs up through your CPA (cost per action) affiliate link for something like a free trial of NetFlix, for example.
All you have to do is steer your readers toward the right offers that you, as a parent yourself would enjoy! And they don't have to be all about the kids - mom and dad need to pamper themselves, too and your blog promotions could help you cash in when they're seeking information or products.
Step 3: Blog Frequently
Can you whip out a short 250-word email each day? Then you can blog for money on the Internet! When you blog, you're doing two things - satisfying the readers who come to your blog for advice and information - and feeding the search engine robots that crawl your site to see what its relevance is so that it can present your URL to interested parties.Blog posts can be as short or as long as you want them to be. The more you blog, the more often search engine robots (also called spiders) will visit your site, which is beneficial to you. It also means your loyal readers will return more often - they love it when you have a schedule for blog posts because it provides a sense of consistency. As a professional blogger, your goal will be to get as much traffic to your site as possible. If you blog daily, even for a simple 250-word entry, you'll build a following who logs in each day to see what you have to say to them. Some bloggers even post more than one blog entry each day - the more the better!
Write a blog post first thing in the morning and then spend the rest of your day reading to your little one or taking care of other tasks you have waiting for your attention!

Step 4: Promote Your Blog!
Your blog might be great, but if no one knows about it, it won't help you earn much money. If you're blogging for dollars, then you'll want a plan of promotion in place to help you get the right kind of people to your site.Step 1: Participate in forums. You can increase the exposure of your blog even more if you join forums related to your blog topic and include a link to your blog in your signature file (look in your profile section for this).
Step 2: Write articles about your niche topic. Article marketing is when you write a great informative article about a topic and at the end, you include a link back to your own domain in your author's bio box. Then you post it on an article directory for publishers to pick up and use for their audience. As their readers enjoy the piece you wrote, they'll click through to your domain to read more from you!
Step 3: Build social networking pages. Blogging in itself is a form of social networking. You see this page you're on now? It's a piece of web 2.0 property - a social marketing page where you can inform, educate, and entertain - for FREE! Squidoo is just one avenue of raising awareness to your blog - you can also use Google Knol, Hub Pages, Wetpaint and more!
Blogging for money doesn't mean you have to compromise your ethics about selling on the Internet. You can be real - be you - and people will love what you have to recommend to them! Make sure you balance out your promotional content with text that your readers enjoy, too. Mommy Bloggers have great opportunities to make money online - there are no start-up costs required, very little technical issues to master, and you get to blog about stuff that you love!
