I Love to Review and Promote Great Mom & Kid Products

The fuel behind my efforts is both my passion for connecting people with resources that will enrich their lives and my strong desire to be in a financial position to be able to spend more time with my daughter by working from home.

I strive to portray resources I have have used personally and have found beneficial in as thorough and accurate a light as I am able from my (and my daughter's and husband's) experience and the information I have available to me at the time. While I am promoting these products and services with the hopes that others will purchase and benefit from them, I want to be a trusted, enthusiastic presenter of what I've found helpful rather than a salesperson.

In a similar light, I want to develop relationships with companies whose products I believe in and help them more effectively reach their target audience. I love 'everybody wins' situations; everyone benefits from being connected with helpful resources that will enrich their lives.

A Few of Mommy's Favorite Things Blog

First of all, I'm a word-of-mouth kind of person, so I've told all the moms I know about my blog and ask them to share it with others if they find it helpful. I've also submitted my blog to social networking sites to help it get found. I put my URL out anywhere that's appropriate to showcase it.

Squidoo Lenses

For each product/service I talk about on MommysFavoriteThings.com, I've created a lens (website) on Squidoo.com that goes into more detail about the item and has opportunities for visitors to purchase it. Squidoo promotes lenses on Google, and I have taken many of the steps to improve web traffic that Squidoo suggests. I'm constantly improving those, as Squidoo is too.

Business Background:

After two years in the recruiting arm of human resources, I made a career change into real estate and focused on marketing homes for sale. I enjoyed creating complete virtual home tours, marketing homes online and developing the content for a highly successful real estate team's website. I've had my real estate license since 2002 and use it to find expert Realtors all over the U.S. as a free service for friends (and friends of friends), family and clients. In 2006, I also ran a home-based business selling other people's items for them on ebay.

Not long after my daughter was born, I hatched the idea of 'A Few of Mommy's Favorite Things' as a means of producing more predictable income doing something that's right up my alley and that would enable me to work from home.

Other Fun Tidbits About Me:

Living with allergies to wheat and corn has given me a passion to find easy and tasty recipes that even people without food allergies can enjoy. Even better is when I find great mixes or prepackaged items that I'm actually able to use. I'm also creating lenses (websites) on Squidoo.com about the wheat and corn-free products that my family loves.

One of my delights is finding deals, especially on kid-related items or clothes for me. :)

I'm a super-fast reader with a high level of comprehension. Really. It's scary. I really enjoy reading, especially fiction, and will always have a special place in my heart for authors like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and J.K. Rowling. I guess I like authors who use their initials. Reading with my daughter is so much fun; I think I like kids' books just as much as she does, or even more.

Teaching my daughter to sign (American Sign Language) has been really rewarding. We've focused on a handful of signs at the beginning, but are branching out. It's made our communication so much easier and less frustrating because she can get her point across to me a lot more effectively, even if she can't say the word.
