33,808 people died in traffic crashes in 2009 in the United States according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (these are the latest figures available). An estimated 10,839 people who have already died in alcohol impaired driving crashes! Drunk driving fatalities calculated all traffic deaths last year to be 32% which equals on average to someone being killed in an alcohol impaired driving crash is about every 50 minutes in the U.S. That is just crazy!! We need to do something about this, please.

Say NO To Drunk Driving!
NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOO!
That video I put up there is just ONE of the many like that one on youtube. It's so sad that this is a reality we have to live with and face everyday. This is a problem that is wide spreading all over the US, all over the WORLD i'm sure.Sometimes I think maybe alcohol should be banned once and for all, and I feel that would be the only solution to stop this problem. But then we have of course the people who text and drive, who talk on the phone and drive.... There is always something. I find this to be more of a plague really.
I wish so much that I had a super power to stop all of these things that are happening and that we have no control of! Which is very shameful to say the least, because these things are being caused by us, human beings! Not ALL of us of course! But it is something that we should be able to control. We control our actions! We have a choice to drink and drive, text and drive, talk on cell phone and drive! So we DO have the power to stop it IF we want to!
So let's decide today that THIS IS SOMETHING WE DO WANT TO DO! Come one people WE HAVE THE POWER! TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE IT!

What hypocrits, wasn't the founder of MADD found drinking and driving? Practice what you preach. I do not condom drinking and driving for I am a non-drinker and not a recovering alcoholic, have never been a drinker. I do know that most people who have accidents with drunk drivers were also out partying and drinking but one was luckier than the other. What are these people doing out in the streets after the bars and clubs close. Also almost everyone has drinks at restaurants. I go to eat out and see coupkes sitting with their children drinking alcohol with their food. Then they get in their car and drive off. These are also drunk drivers whether completely pollutated or not. Most of these MADD are drinkers. They belong in prisons for their hypocracy. Those of you who have no drinks in your bellies can talk, all others should keep their mouths shut. If you are a drinker of any kind you should not be able to participate in MADD. And I mean not even so called social drinker for you are also alcoholics. So please shut uo and clean yourselves up first. The person with no drinks ever in your bellies can cast the first stone. People need rehab not prison. Prisons should be for murderers, theives, child molesters, aggravated crimes, fraud. For that matter almost all of Hollywood belongs in prison yet they go to rehab and a slap on the wrist. Look at the founder of MADD, she got a dui,is she in prison? Those who cry out the most are the worst. Of course I don't want anyone to die. So stay at home and don't party.

Every week I hear of someone with a revoked license being stopped for another DUI....as long as we keep letting them go with only a fine, they will not stop. Tougher laws and real time in prison may help. Intoxicated people do not make good decisions and should not be driving.

No One Deserves This
NO ONE!
This video had me sobbing for a long time. Immediately I thought about my son and I just wanted for him to come home from school so I could hold him and give him a big hug, tell him how much I love him and never let him go! I did just that!Even if you don't have any kids yet or never want to have them, no parent should have to go through this horror! In fact NO ONE should go through a loss of a loved one this way! I mean losing someone is hard enough in any situation, but to know we lost them for something as careless as someone drinking and driving, has got to be 10 times more horrible!
Usually because it always seems to be that the a-hole drinking always comes out alive and the innocent always end up dead and paying the price! Then the families of the a-hole drunk always try to defend them saying how horrible their lives are now, how can they live with this burden and weight on their shoulders and guilt for the rest of their lives?
Call me cold hearted but NO! NO! I DO NOT feel bad or sorry for them! If they used their common sense or were responsible enough to know right from wrong they would not be in this position right now! If you are not responsible then don't drive at all period! Drink and kill your liver all you want, but never ever drive a vehicle and get behind a wheel!

Honestly, when people are drunk (and yes, I have been tipsy myself) they are NOT of sound mind. We are 'our brother's (and sister's) keepers' to an extent. Without shaming a person, we should have the availability to get someone into a cab to go home and have this person billed directly somehow (credit card, etc), if they (the drunk person) is cashless. This senseless way of dying needs to end. In Canada, whenever someone calls for an ambulance (even if not a life threatening situation), the person eventually gets 'billed' for the cost of the ride to the hospital. Wonder if something similar could be done in these situations?

I'm Sure We All Have Heard Of Her, If Not....Read Her Story Below:
It's so true when they say "Not everyone who gets hit by a drunk driver dies!" This is the story of Jacqueline Saburido. She was originally from Venezuela and had come to the U.S. to study English. A beautiful and smart 20yr. old young woman who unfortunately lost her life to a drunk driver!This was back on September of 1999. She was in a car with two other friends of hers and they were happily driving on the outskirts of Austin, Texas. Then the horrible tragedy happened! An 18yr. old irresponsible drunk guy lost control of his car and hit their car. Her two friends ended up dead, and she survived! Well, you see in what conditions she was left.
The car she was in caught on fire and she had burns on over 60 percent of her body. And you can see from the picture, she has lost her hair, her left eye, most her vision, her ears, part of her nose, even her fingers had to be amputated! That once beautiful and bright young woman, with so much going for her and her future, ended up this way, thanks to a drunk driver!

What is it going to take for people to wake up and realize that it CAN happen to them? It could be you, your kids, you parents, a best friend...Who cares? - Thank you for a beautiful, albeit sad lens. My brother was killed in a drunk driving accident about a year-and-a-half ago. Unfortunately, he was the drunk. We're just grateful no one else was involved.
