Hi,my name is Viola and I am a stay at home Mom working from my home in beautiful Northwest Montana.

Along with my husband of 20 years, Dennis, we are raising a family of 5 beautiful children and what better place to do that in the foothills of the Rockies!

We had struggled for years, trying to support our growing family and one day my husband and I sat down and decided to do some research on home based businesses.

We had done Amway way back when ~ among a variety of other things and had just never seemed to be very successful in anything...

But that was before the advent of the internet...and now we had this wonderful tool sitting on our desktop.

I mean, just think of it, we have the world at our fingertips with all the technology that has evolved over the past several years!

So we have been on a journey ever since, the entrepreneurial bug bit us for good this time!

We have learned a lot, as I am sure anyone has, that has done any kind of home based business... and for those that are just beginning to venture out there, maybe we can help you avoid some of the traps that we fell into, and to make your path a bit smoother!

Hopefully there will be little bits and pieces of help for home business found on these pages...

..I have listened to a number of trainers in the home based business industry - many of them are wonderful assets in learning how to build teams,etc...but all I wanted to know was "what exactly do I do to become successful at network marketing??"...

I needed specific guidance in knowing exactly what to do....and that is my goal with this website...to provide basic information that will be simple enough that even the brand new stay at home mom can get tips and ideas on how to work at home!

That is my passion - to see others succeed both financially and spiritually - one thing we have discovered is that everything happens for a purpose in our lives...

And sometimes when it seems like we are just barely hanging on or at the bottom with no rope at all - it is only an indication that there is a door of hope that we need to be looking for.

One thing that ALL successful people do - regardless whether it is in finances or in other areas of their lives is that they focus on what they CAN do - rather than focusing on all the impossibilites and what they can NOT do....

When we focus on the positive things in our lives and develop an attitude of grattitude - it is absolutely amazing at how things begin to change for us. Don't believe me? Just try it for 30 days... =)

Make a simple list of everything you have to be thankful for and all your blessings. Start being thankful for those things on a daily basis - focus on what you REALLY want in life... Look for someone to give a kind word to....

Learning the art of time management can make a huge difference!

Raising a family and growing a business are both full-time jobs. As a home business entrepreneur, your work place is often within a few feet of your family space....Having a schedule has helped me a lot in balancing home and work...I am a homeschooling mom as well as having joined the ranks of the moms that work at home, so I really need a work schedule!

One of the biggest challenges I have is knowing when to lay my home based business aside and switch from being a 'work at home mom' to simply a 'stay at home mom'!!....One of the biggest tips that I can give anyone in trying to balance home and work is to have a schedule...

...first of all, Prioritize your life ~ for me, my priorities are...

Use a monthly planner of some sort, if you need to, and fill in the spots that you know you need to be there for your family, school events, etc

It took me awhile to get this thing figured out as I had always been a stay at home mom and was not very organized ~ in fact, my husband would tell you, I STILL need training on that end!-lol ~

6:30am - wake up and get daughter off to high-school - I check emails etc. while I make sure she has everything she needs..

7:00am - fix a cup of coffee and relax a bit, have some quiet time

7:30am - work on computer , respond to emails, etc...

8:30am - get the 3 youngest up , have brex and get homeschool started

9am - as they do their schoolwork, I do odd jobs on computer between questions and also pick up the house,etc...2026 I do a lot of multi-tasking as they do their lessons!

noon - we are usually done with school by then, and they are off doing other chores, or playing...

2pm - 5pm - My work time - I am usually doing phone work during these 3 hours, but because I work from home - there is always the occasional interruption....

6pm - ? - dinnertime, etc....family time.....church activites... I do administrative work in the evenings as time permits, and also that is when I like to plug into personal development training...

Your schedule may vary a lot from this but once you start implementing a few simple home business time management tips and strategies, you will find that balancing

The space does not need to be marked off by a permanent partition...(in my case, I have to have it partitioned off, as I have four kids at home yet, so my main office is in my bedroom, behind closed doors for the sake of privacy - lol!)

Her shop is located in her garage which is not attached to the house. She uses the garage for her jewelry business only. In one part of the garage she puts her machines and worktables and inventory of gems and metals.

In another part of the garage is a small showroom. Lillian is allowed to claim a deduction for the business use of her garage. The use is exclusive, regular, and for the business. She is allowed to take a deduction for the business use of her home. The rooms in her house are all about the same size. There are ten rooms and she uses one for a studio. Peggy's business use percentage is 10%....She can deduct 10% of her utilities, rent, mortgage, etc...

Recordkeeping is vital when you have a home business....

You must keep accurate recordsthat provide the information needed to figure your deductions for the business use of your home.

Keep all cancelled checks, receipts, invoices, and other evidence of expenses for the deductions you claim...
