    I've found another way to promote my blog. It's a new traffic exchange service (http://liqad.com/) and it sends back to my site much more readers than I send to liqad. I mean it's absolutely free - my stats are going up. Admin says it should be possible to sell extra traffic to monetize blog soon.

    Good stuff. When I tried affiliate marketing, I went about it all wrong. I was trying to "sell" the product or service. That's a big mistake. The best thing to do is educate potential customers of the product's possibilities and how the customer can benefit from it. Putting things like "buy now" just makes customers go the other way. Anyway, thanks for the tips and great lens.

    A great source for beginners and people looking to diversify their income streams alike. I find that the key thing to do is to build up active and residual income side-by-side. As you build up residual income, we free up more time to work on the things we are most passionate about, thus being able to actively update key content. It's a natural and more realistic approach to things. Don't expect to join an affiliate network, put up ads, throw up some nice content, and have the big bucks pour in.. If only it were that easy!

    The good news is that the rise of social media and gaming mechanics on the Internet has made it easier for the little guys to get noticed. It's not merely about finding a niche. It's about engaging our audiences in meaningful, authentic ways.. That's what creates life-long customers and your most avid supporters!

    Well, I would have a look @ mycube.com , a new social community that lets you charge for all your content so if you were to write a blog there you could charge like 1 or 2 or 6 or 50 cents up to 15 dollars for people to read and make money from advertisement... and you will own your content as well so if you post a book or pics you own and control it... They are in private beta now so lets see how it goes but think one can apply already now for an account and they give 50$ free to the first 5000 users... sounds cool but lets see...

    Thanks for the suggestions. I love alternatives to Adsense - I know that I am getting clicks I am not getting paid for and there is no one to talk to. I could not open the fair ads network link, I will try again. In my paranoia I wonder if google is blocking the competition.

    There is a widget on widgetbox gallery which display Groupon and other social deals on a local map (GEO IP location detected so that the map is always centered at the reader's location). You can configure it with your own affiliation id and start to make money from it. These deals are usually quite attractive with huge discount and they are local. Blogger /website owner should be able to generate good revenue from it.

    Adsense is still the best but I must agree that one can get banned for fraudulent clicks anytime if someone sabotage you by "bomb-clicking"

    Great lens! Generating a significant amount of income from AdSense is possible. With a lot of hard work over the last 3 years I have been able to replace my full time income with a passive income that is largely from AdSense. The most important choice you have to make is to hang in there when you get discouraged.

    we used this group called altitude digital partners. we made a lot of money bc they paid us on time and their cpms were higher than other networks we had used in the past.

    I manage a small gossip website, and we were having trouble getting in touch with the bigger ad networks. But then I read some blogs about Altitude Digital Partners, and so I thought I would give them a try. They really helped to monetize our website, and they work directly with the ad networks and other publishers. They got us the best deals on CPMs and the most revenue. I would recommend them to anyone!

    I had never heard of niche widget before reading your lens. I think the look and the appeal of the ads is absolutely incredible, and I am incorporating them as we speak. Thank you and keep up the good work.

    Hey there - David Perdew here - I own the Niche Widget system. I'm sorry you had trouble with this. But don't feel bad. I don't know how many times I've tried to do something and couldn't because it was much simpler than I thought :) Niche Widget is exactly that way.

    You can control everything from the control panel - including adding your widget to your social marketing sites and blogs. In fact, you can put one in every post if you want.

    But here's the really cool part - as of this weekend (11/09/2008), you can also add text widgets (Adsense style or editorial style) and really add actionable content that sells to your site.

    And if you click on the Niche-Mall link from your control panel, you can build single product ads to match your layout without or without images with your affiliate link embedded...This is powerful stuff.

    Here's how to get a NicheWidget on to your lens:

    Go to 'View Widgets' on your dashboard, 'Preview' the one you want and then click on 'Grab This Widget' to find Squidoo option. You'll then be asked which lens you want to put in on, and then dropped in to the Workshop for that lens.

    I signed up for NicheWidgets but couldn't see how I could add the code (javascript) to my lenses so I've not bothered with it. But, saying that I didn't spend as long as I could have done to figure it out. Will go back later. Good resource lens, though! 5*

    Have you heard about proximic ? I hear their contextual advertising solution has the potential of getting much higher revenues for website entrepreneur based on better ad relevancy than even Google Adsense. Any input on that?

    Yesterday I also purchased The Secret Cash Machine you mentioned (BTTB2 too, but that was a little while ago) and I'm still reading it, but it's really great stuff so far.

    And if you like Hubpages, then I also suggest you check out Blinkweb which I'm still new to...too, but it has been recommended by, well, my mentors :-P
