Quick Questions About Coinage
Coins are something you see (and probably handle) every day, but if you are like most people you never give them a second thought. You reach into your pocket and throw a few coins onto the counter in the coffee shop to pay for the morning pick-me-up. You slip them into the slot in the vending machine for that quick snack. You pick up your change from a purchase. Some people think so little of coins that they don't even take coins offered as change if it only amounts to a few cents. Coins just don't seem important to a large portion of our people.
But when was the last time you took a look at your coins? When was the last time you thought about what the symbols on the coins mean? Are you among the people who don't even realize that coin designs change? Do you know what that coin in your hand is made of, or where it was made? Here are a some quick quizzes to start you thinking about coins and their significance in our society and history.
If you ask most people what they think about coins, they'll honestly answer that they don't. They don't take notice of coin designs or changes in them. They don't know where the coins come from, how or where the coins are made. It seems that coins just appear in the drawers of their local bank, credit union, convenience market, or superstore. Here are Five Quizzes to Check You Numismatic Knowledge!

- As a child, I enjoyed collecting coins. I sold my first collection for several hundred dollars at auction while I was still in school. I still enjoy looking, although I have not collected any coins for many years. I really enjoyed this page. Thank you for sharing. I learned quite a bit.
