Before you start any lens that you want to make money with you need to set some goals first. Though you may not realize it but this is one of the key factors in making money on Squidoo. Making money on Squidoo is not an easy thing at first and is not something that is just handed to us. It takes a lot of hard work and a lot of time.

It is real easy for us to just get tired or lazy and give up on making money with Squidoo thinking that it is to hard or not worth it. The truth is that once you succeed you will realize that it is far more than worth it and all of your hard work will be paid off.


This is were creating goals and sticking to them is a must in order to succeed on Squidoo or anything you do for that matter. If you are persistent, determined, and patient then there is nothing that can stop you from making an unlimited amount of money with Squidoo. Persistant
Refuse to give up no matter what. No matter what happens or how tired you get or what the negative side of your brain is telling you, you must keep working at it and never give up.


Determined
You have to be determined and want it really bad. If you don't really care about it that much then most likely you won't put the effort into it that is needed to succeed.

patience
You must be patient and know that soon all of your hard work will be paid off. There is no need to rush things, it will all come to you when the time is right. As long as your sticking to the other two things then you know that it will eventually come to you.

Now before I start I would just like to say a few things about what making money on Squidoo is all about and what you need to know before you decide to quit your job and pay bills with Squidoo.


Squidoo is a lot of hard work


Squidoo is not a get rich over night type of thing. It takes a lot of hard work and a lot of dedication to make money on Squidoo. It may sound great at first but most people are not willing to put in the work that is needed to make money. They get off to a great start and then they realize that its a lot harder than it seems and that is usually when they quit. So before you start ask yourself if you are motivated and willing enough to put in the time and the hard work that is needed if your going to make any kind of money.


Squidoo is not the lottery


Another thing that Squidoo is not going to do is make you a millionaire. Your not going to make enough money on Squidoo to retire by next year. Now maybe if you dedicate your entire life to Squidoo and treat it like a job and write non stop for the next year you might be able to do it. But for most of us it will take time and that is were patients comes into play. Don't be discouraged if you've worked really hard and have nothing to show for it. Don't give up and keep at it because eventually all your hard work will catch up with you and you will see that it was more than worth it in the end.


Squidoo is not a waste of time


A lot of people think that Squidoo is just a waste of time and you are never going to make any money. This is the biggest lie you will ever hear probably coming from people that have tried to make money on Squidoo but never knew how so they failed. The truth is that there is so many ways to make money on Squidoo that its only limited by your imagination. You can use Squidoo for advertising your business or website, affiliate marketing, Google adwords, eBay, Amazon, creating lenses and selling them, multi level marketing, recommending products, and so much more.

How well your lens is ranked is an important factor in determining how much money your lens will make. Not only does higher lens ranking mean that you will get more traffic, it also means that when people look at your lens and see that it has a very high ranking, they will except as being more credible and take every thing you say more serious.


Now the way that Squidoo rates their lenses is kept a secret, so it is up to us lens makers to try and figure out how to get high rankings. It seems like every time you turn around someone has a lens out that says that they found out the formula on how to do this, but usually they all say the same thing and they aren't to sure. When you have the exact same content as every one else and your lens is not original then it will be a lot harder for your lens ranking to go up. This is why it is important to create original lenses and original content so that way Squidoo can pick you out from the rest of the bunch. Just look at the top 100 lenses that are on here and you will see most of the lenses are very original and are unlike any other lenses on here.

The more traffic that you have, the higher lens rank you will have. This tells Squidoo that a lot of people are interested in your lens and curious as to what it is about so it must be important. Also remember, the more backlinks that you have, the more traffic you are going to get.

How well your page is rated by other people on Squidoo is another big factor in determining your rank. If a lot of people are coming to your lens and hate it giving you the lowest rating, then Squidoo will know that your page is garbage. That is why it is important to create a great lens so that when people see and read it, they are in awe and give you five stars without a doubt in their mind that you deserve anything less.

Keeping your lens frequently updated lets Squidoo know that your information is still relevant and not outdated and that your lens is


Outbound Links
Outbound links just like backlinks or also important. This is where your lens links to other lenses or other websites. This tells Squidoo that you are giving other people more recourses and information than just your own.


These are all the main things that Squidoo uses to determine how high your lens ranks. Some are more important than others but if you want to get the highest lens ranking possible then you need to take into consideration all of these issues when your building your next lens or updating your current lenses.

I'm sure that most of you have probably heard this saying before but I can't stress the fact of how important content is. Information! information! information! This is the main purpose and entire goal of your Squidoo lens. To provide other people with useful and great information about whatever topic they are looking up. If you think that your going to make some money on Squidoo and not have to provide very much information or content at all then you could not be farther from the truth. So whenever you create a lens make sure that his has a lot of content. Not just random content, but content that is related to your lens. This is what is going to make people stay and read your lens, and it's also going to make your lens a lot more favorable to the search engines.

One thing that a lot of people think is that if they have more lenses then they are inevitably going to make more money. The truth is that it does not matter if you have 50 lenses or 5,000 lenses. If they are all junk and have nothing to offer anyone then they are not going to make a dime.


It seems like everybody these days wants to create as many lenses as they possibly can. Like it is some sort of contest that whoever has the most lenses is going to make the most money. I just read an article on captain squid where he told everyone to go out and create six lenses in six days to help you write better lenses. The only thing I can see this doing is teaching you how to create a lot of bad lenses.


Remember that it is better to have 5 great lenses than to have 5,000 lenses that are nothing but junk. This is why when you create a lens you want to spend a lot of time and a lot of energy into it making it great. This is why you should choose subjects that you are passionate about before you even start the lens. It is a lot better to get in the habit now that when you create a lens you don't just settle for something less than great but create it the best that you possibly can. Then before you know it you will be creating great lenses without even thinking about it. Now if you are creating them for fun or as hobby then that is completely fine, but if your creating them to make money then you better make sure that they are nothing but excellent.


So before you decide to start creating more lenses you should first work on the ones that you have. Start by adding more content and information to them, maybe add some more modules and pictures, create more backlinks to every one of your lenses. Whatever it takes to make your lens the best that it can be and make the most money. If you have a lens that you don't care about and has no visitors or any good content on it then it is probably time to just delete that lens.

When your creating your lens you don't want to overdue it. You want to keep it simple and easy to read. Remember people did not come to your lens to see how pretty it is or what you can do with it. They came to get information and read what you had to write.


Don't put all these advertisements and pictures every where thinking that people are going to stay at your lens and read it. The truth is that when people go to a lens and they see nothing but advertisements and garbage on your lens then they just quickly hit the back button.


So the next time your thinking about adding all this extra stuff and making your lens all fancy, remember that your probably hurting yourself more than helping yourself. Sometimes I go to a lens and it is so bad that they have an advertising module after every single text module thinking that the more they have, the more likely someone is going to click on it and buy it. There is nothing farther from the truth then this. People see nothing but ads and they just exit out of the page knowing the lens is garbage.


Now I'm not saying that you have to have just a plain lens with nothing but words everywhere. Its ok to add those things and make your lens look great, just don't overdue it. Make sure that it is simple, easy to read, and is easy to follow the text. Remember the information on your page is the main point, not the pictures and advertisements and decorations.

Out of every way that your going to make money on Squidoo, this is probably going to be the most important and the one that you should focus on most. If you don't already know an affiliate is someone that sells or advertises someone else's product and when someone buys it that was sent to the website by you, you get a portion of the money. Some people offer all the way up to 75 percent of the profit on every sale you make. This can mean a lot of cash coming your way if you know what your doing.


What you have to do first is find a great product that you want to promote. You don't want to try and sell or advertise something that no one is going to want or need. It has to be relevant and you need to make sure there is a hot market for it. You also don't want to recommend or sell anything that is just pure junk and a waste of money. When you tell someone that they should buy this product or recommend this product you better make sure that it is a great product and over delivers every thing that it promises.

Now remember his sight isn't for learning how to do this with Squidoo but everywhere on the web. So after you read everything he says not only will you be able to succeed with affiliates on Squidoo but you will be able to succeed with every place on the web. He calls his site the The Lazy Millionaire and after you read it you will know why. He already makes around $15,000 dollars online every month using the same affiliate knowledge that he gives to you on this site.

Nothing is going to make you more money then having the right knowledge and experience on Squidoo. Just think, what makes you different from all the other people that are making lots of money online. Absolutely nothing except for the fact that they were taught and have learned how to do it and what it takes to succeed. Now this does not mean that you have to waste thousands of hours trying all kinds of different techniques finding out which ones work and which ones don't. There are already a lot of people out there that have done this that know what works and what doesn't work. You don't have to reinvent the wheel but instead learn from the people that already have.


One of the most experienced people on Squidoo that I have ran into on the internet is Russel Still. This guy has created something called the Squidoo Bible. His website has everything on it that you would need to learn how to use Squidoo for making money. He has a complete system with everything you need to know about Squidoo including online videos, continuously updated resource pages, and he even has a clipart gallery that you can use on all your lenses for his members. This is one of the best Squidoo resources that is out right now and a definate must have for anyone that wants to make money online.


Another person that has a lot of useful information on Squidoo is Karl Pemberton. He has made a lot of money on Squidoo and he tells you exactly what he does and exactly how to do it. He has so much information on his site that you can't even imagine and would take you years to learn on your own. Also when you join his site he sends you a lens idea to your email address every single day. On his website he will tell you exactly how to choose an idea before you even start and if it will be profitable or not. He tells you how to build a lens the right way and gives you the tools you need to bring your lens to life. He also shows you how to market your lense and promote your lens so that you will get a lot of targeted traffic and that your lense will be getting the maximum profits. He calls this the The Secret Cash Machine on Squidoo and it defiantly is.



The last person that I found that has a lot of knowledge on Squidoo is John Riley. On his website he has video tutorials, audio interviews with one of the top earners on Squidoo and also the founder of Squidoo Seth Godin. Another great thing that he shows you that the other sites doesn't is how to build and gain trust from your traffic and customers and why this is so important and one of the key factors in succeeding on Squidoo. Another website that I would Highly recommend to anyone that wants to learn as much as they can about Squidoo and still learning what it takes to make money on Squidoo. He gives you the exact blue prints to discovering the profits on Squidoo.


So as you can see I have listed a couple people here that I have found to have the most knowledge and have already succeeded with Squidoo and know what is needed and has to be done to succeed with Squidoo. Listen to what they have to say and learn as much as you possibly can from all of them so that you will also succeed and maybe you will be showing someone else how to do it someday.

Squidoo is also a great way to promote and advertise anything. If you have another website and you want to gain more traffic then Squidoo is one of the best free ways that you can do it. Creating lenses that explain what your website has to offer or what it's all about will get you a lot more traffic to your website and if you haven't figured it out yet, the more traffic that you have, the more money your going to make. You can also advertise about a service that you do. Maybe your a photographer and you want to sell some of your pictures. Creating a lenses showing some of your pictures and telling everyone that they are for sell is a great way to gain extra business. Maybe you create websites and sell them or maybe you coach people online or whatever you do, Squidoo is a great place to tell the world about it and get it out there.


Now of course most of you probably aren't on Squidoo to advertise mainly because you don't have a website or product to offer anyone. Creating a successful website is one of the most challenging things to do if your new at it and don't know what your doing.
