Then the gas bill and depending on where you go, you have to pay for parking, especially if you are in a downtown area. Are you going to do any activities? There is a cost. See how much money you are going to be out of. The hotel resort prices, and I am talking about 5 star resorts, range from $200 usd per night and up. Parking fees start at $10 and some $15 and $20 per night. See how the cost is already up from a regular hotel stay.

Lets look at a typical cruise.Carnival cruises are the leading cruise line in the industry. Why? Because carnival cruises are family oriented and offers more value than any hotel resort could possibly offer. With the economy being what it is, cruise deals are popping up like popcorn at a movie theatre. A cruise offers fun and great activities for everyone in the family. Carnival cruises are called the fun ships because of the activites for kids, parents, senior citizens and just everyone. They have restaurants with the food included in the cruise fare. For big spenders one can choose from the many specialty restaurants in which you can pay to order you dining choice. The main idea is more options are available to those on a budget. Activities from minature golf, water slides and games, ping pong, video games, and much much more is available for kids and kids at heart. This past weekend which is Fathers Day weekend, I was treated to a stay at one of the finest hotel resort and spa facilities in the country. I cant call the specific name for legal purposes but the resort is located in Ponte Verde Beach Florida. Ponte Verde is the headquarters to the PGA Tour Association. The worlds greatest golfers and pro football players have stayed and performed at this resort. I recieved a discounted rate for a breakfast and a 50 minute message for reserving a particular room package. The cost for one day was $240 usd. Compare a one day stay here and the cost of a discounted cruise for 3 or 4 days. The food bill for one day at the resort not including the free breakfast was over $110 usd. Valet parking $20 usd per day. We still had to buy gas to visit places other than where the complimentary shuttle transported. Keep in mind this is just for one day, I can't stress this enough. It was a very nice place to stay but the value of a cruise is much more appealing than spending that much money for one day. Everything is at your exposure. No need to spend extra gas money and wear and tear on a vehicle to find something to do. Activities abound on the cruise ship. Value is key.
