Moneyball Movie Soundtrack

Based on a true story, Moneyball is the tale of Major League Baseball manager Billy Beane, who assembled a winning team through his sly use of computer generated data to reassess players who others have call flawed, and recruiting them for his lineup.
21 original score by Canadian film composer Mychael Danna are in the soundtrack, plus a song each by Kerris Dorsey and This Will Destroy You. Danna's well known style of combining non-Western sound sources with orchestral and electronic minimalism is prevalent in all the score. While there are moderately fast paced pieces in the menu, there are no hard hitting heavy metal sounds expected in a sports themed movie. Instead the soundtrack somewhat appears to lean to the style of Vangelis's score in "Chariots of Fire".
"The Show" by Kerris Dorsey is a lively song sung to the strumming of a acoustic guitar, and This Will Destroy You's "The Mighty Rio Grande" takes us away from the rest of the tracks with it's catchy guitar work, drum beats and cymbals. It's a crescendo of twangy country blues style guitar with almost monotone background strings and keyboards.
