Building a Money Maker Lens

This lens is a guide to building a Money Maker Lens with Squidoo. So, let's get started. This lens has a lot of information for you and I know you want to get started building money making lenses right away.

The First Step

An Account

The first step you'll need to take to make a money maker lens is to sign up for your FREE Squidoo account. Please, register at the link below if you haven't done so already.

Squidoo Registration

You can start creating lenses immediately!

The Second Step

The next thing you'll want to do is log in, set up your account, set up your profile and select any charities you might want to support in the event that you actually sell something.

Oops! You may have noticed that Squidoo uses PayPal to pay you your commissions. If you don't already have one, then go to the link below and sign up for one today. PayPal is the most widely used 3rd party financial transferring service on the Internet. It is totally secure and easy to use.

PayPal Registration

Sign up for your FREE PayPal account!
It will take a few days to process and confirm your PayPal account but you will still be able to create Squidoo lenses.

The Third Step

OK, so now you're set to make your first Squidoo lens!

So, log into your Squidoo account. Then select My Dashboard at the top right hand corner of the page. It will be a link right next to your name. Then select the Make a New Lens, which is a link right under the word Dashboard in the top left hand corner of the page. Now you can just follow the easy wizard page builder to begin!

The Fourth Step

Well, now you might be staring at the wizard screen and can't think of what you want your first lens to be about. Don't worry, that still happens to me despite the fact that I have well over 90 lenses already! So, just sit back and think about some things that you really enjoy talking about. Perhaps you have an interest in golf. Or maybe you've always wanted to go to Australia. And maybe you've got some customer service skills and tips you could give us. Just brainstorm about anything you like or are good at and start writing it down.

No, you don't need to write it down on paper first. But if you want to you can. Instead, tape record yourself talking about something you like. Then you can just type it in and edit it with the Text module.

Another idea is to build a lens with a friend or family member. Your lens will have double the information on it because you can do a Q&A section or add things you hadn't thought of yourself.

The Fifth Step

Fill your lens with fabulous information. Keep your reader's attention by breaking up the page a bit with other modules or lists of sites that back up your topic.

Use the right hand sidebar tools to select the proper category your lens belongs in. Add tags in the tag module to help search engines find your site. Tags act as keywords and phrases that people may type into their search engine box to find something on a topic they are researching. And last, but not least, select your payment options before publishing your lens.
