Mongol The Untold Story of the Rise of Genghis Khan
Mongol is the story of Genghis Khan who was the Ruler of the Largest Empire the World Has Ever Known
When Genghis Khan was a boy, everything he loved was taken from him. When he became a man, he would fulfill his destiny. He would raise an army and he would take it all back. One day, Genghis Khan would become the ruler of the largest empire the world has ever known.
Mongol was beautifully filmed in the lands that gave birth to Genghis Khan, a nomad's landscape of endless space, climatic extremes and ever-present danger.

First entry in a proposed trilogy, Mongol vividly captures the beauty and brutality of ancient Mongolia. Beginning in 1172 and ending in 1206, Sergei Bodrov's Oscar-nominated epic presents future conqueror Ghengis Khan as more lover--and fighter--than diplomat....Mongol equals the scope and grandeur of historical predecessors, like Braveheart and Hero. If much of the cast is Chinese and Japanese, Bodrov, who directed Prisoner of the Mountains, conjures up authenticity through detailed costumes, Mongolian dialogue, and remote Central Asian locations. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
Mongol is based on the leading scholarly accounts and written by Bodrov and Arif Aliyev
