The people of Mongolia are some of the best people of the world. After traveling in four continents I never encountered a country with more caring, competent, practical, and selfless people as I did in the Mongolian countryside in 1993.

Mongol Journal
In the summer of 1993, when I was 18 years old, I spent 9 1/2 weeks in outer Mongolia. For much of this time I was traveling alone on horseback, or I was hitchhiking on unfathomably bumpy roads that saw trucks a few times a day at best.A combination of the letters and journal I kept at that time, along with my snapshot photography, was later transformed to a book.
