Turning her hobby into a fashion breakthrough!
Monique Lhuillier, (born in Cebu, Philippines in 1971), is a Filipino-French descent fashion designer based in the United States. She comes from a very prominent family names in the Philippine high society.
In her early age of 15, she demonstrated good taste and great imagination in fashion. As a result she went to the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in L.A.
Lhuillier came into the limelight of the fashion world when her wedding gown designs and dresses wears by A-list celebrities since then she expanded her line.
Her First Bridal Collection
Lhuillier launched her first bridal collection in 1996. It is very well received by retailers and fashion magazine editors.
In the next year, her husband Tom took control of the company and turned Monique's vision into reality. The collaboration has proved to be very successful.
In 2000, Monique designed her first evening collection.

It has a champagne silk underlay with ivory lace covering the silk. It is strapless and a mermaid style fitting dress. It also comes with a sable colored sash that really makes the dress stand out. The dress is a size 6, the bust was made to fit a 36 D and the dress was hemmed to fit a 5'2" woman. No other alterations were done to the dress.
