Monitor Review
There is a friend of mine who earns quite a lot of money and he works for one of the leading information technology magazines of the country. He is quite popular and there are many persons who love his style of writing when he reviews monitors.
One day I asked him what is so big about it and what does it take to review monitors. I was in for a surprise since I did not know that so many tests and gadgets were used to review monitors. When a company manufactures a new model of a monitor, they do not send it to the market immediately. They are sent to several test centers where specialists are entrusted with the task to review monitors.
These specialists are equipped with the latest gadgetry and know about the monitors like the palm of their hands. They who review monitors know about all its parts and functions. They know that the success or failure of a new monitor depends largely on what they have mentioned about it in the magazines after they review monitors. There are many terms that the common people do not know but which are essential in order to review monitors. Pin cushion, yoke, ambient lighting, angle of clear display, frequency and quite a number of other terms are common day to day language amongst those who review monitors.
Once they get the set provided to them by the manufacturers, they take some time to study the specification sheet enclosed with the product and once they have all these details do they start taking apart the monitors. It is not easy to review monitors and many new entrants to these review centers have to spend many months working as an apprentice before they can review monitors all of their own. The vast number of sophisticated machinery provided to the engineers who review monitors will make the common people dumbfounded. There are oscilloscopes that can record even the minutest amount of resistance across two components in the circuit boards.
They are extremely handy for the people who have made it possible for us to know which monitor is good and which one is not by reading their reviews. The specialists who review monitors take apart the new display unit and start testing each and every important aspect of the same. All their findings are mentioned in details in the magazines and it is these findings that help one gauge whether a particular brand of monitor is suitable or not. To review monitors one also needs to be updated about the latest technology. One just cannot review monitors using the liquid crystal technology if they do not know about LCD monitors.
Before my friend sits down to review monitors he takes some time to study about the new technologies used in the same. Once he is armed with all the necessary information he starts to review monitors that have arrived a few days back. While it is not easy to review monitors, it is an interesting job. One can get the chance to handle new gadgets before they are released in the market.

- I ordered this Best 17 Inch Monitors to replace the last CRT in the house. I have a HP L1710 17 inch at work that is great, and the dying CRT was 17 inch so I figured I'd go cheap and get this Acer with free shipping. Also the resolution matched the highest resolution on the old desktop that it is plugged into. I think the 1710 is a slightly better screen, but not so much that it matters. The Acer monitor is just fine, and we have bunches of Acers at work with no problems. The problem for me is that now I wish I would have gone 19 or 20 inch. I had a Viewsonic 20 inch widescreen before, and it quit working on my computer, and for some reason will only work on our Toshiba netbook now, and not on any of the other six computers in the house. Will never buy a Viewsonic product again. Anyway, aside from being too cheap to up the size, I recommend this monitor. By the way, it came with a SVGA cable, which I needed since the old CRT had its cable built in.
