EBay is a great source to finding some really neat UNIQUE - BUDGET FRIENDLY party favors.

Safari Party Favor Boxes
The Safari Party Favor Boxes are the perfect addition to your Monkey or Safari Party! Fill these party favor boxes with candy, small toys, or other fun loot, and then cluster them on a table with a large toy or balloons to add to your party decorations.

Turn pom-poms and pipe cleaners into silly-looking monkeys that you'll love to have hanging around.

CRAFT MATERIALS NEEDED:
bumpy pipe cleaner
regular pipe cleaner
pom-poms
hot glue or tacky glue
googly eyes

Time needed: Under 1 Hour

1. To make each one, cut a length of bumpy pipe cleaner (make sure your piece has two bumps) and bend it in half to form the monkey's legs. Use hot glue or tacky glue to secure two 1-inch pom-poms together, sandwiching the legs and a 9-inch length of regular pipe cleaner (for the arms) between them.

2. Glue a third pom-pom in place for a head. Attach googly eyes, small pom-poms for ears, and a tiny pom-pom nose. Add glue to one end of a 6-inch length of regular pipe cleaner and stick it to the back of the monkey for a tail.

3. When the glue has dried, bend the arms and the tail into shape.

Family Fun

Monkey in the Middle:
You'll need a beach ball or even a Stuffed Monkey for this game. Have the kids form a big circle with one child standing in the middle.
The object of the game is for the kids to pass the ball around the circle without letting the monkey (in the middle) intercept it. If the monkey intercepts the ball, then the person who threw it becomes the next monkey.

Monkey Around Contest:
Give each child a chance to demonstrate his or her best monkey call and dance. When all the children have had a turn, award prizes for the loudest, squeakiest, most real, funniest, etc. You can enlist parents, older siblings, or neighbors to be competition judges. Have those video cameras handy - this will be very funny.

Banana Toss
You can do this a number of ways, but here is an easy one. Have some real or plastic bananas to use for tossing and a bucket. Line the kids up and give them each a turn to see if they can get the banana in the bucket. You can even make a large Monkey Face on heavy poster board or wood with the mouth open and toss the bananas for a Feed the Monkey version.

Monkey See Monkey Do:
You simply select who will "Monkey" and have all the other kids copy the dance moves they do to music. Then you just change the leader every 20-30 seconds. The kids will find this so funny.

Banana Peel:
Have the kids peel a real banana with their feet - this is a very funny thing to watch and not that easy to do. See who has Monkey Feet!!!

Banana Hunt:
Just like an Easter egg hunt, but you can hide small bananas around for the kids to find. You can even make one a special find with a star on it for a prize.

Safari Party Game
This Safari Party-themed, game includes a game poster and 12 stickers. Ages 5 and up.
