What Is Monkey Bread?

Monkey bread is traditionally known as a sticky, gooey pastry made from "layered" balls of sweet yeast dough individually coated in melted butter, cinnamon, sugar and then baked. However, there are many non-sweet, savory versions of this treat.
You can bake it in a loaf pan, cake pan, bundt pan or any other baking dish you may have.
Monkey bread is usually served hot so that the baked segments can be easily pulled apart with the fingers and eaten by hand.
