Monopoly Revolution
Anyway this new version of the game is a little faster, and much more updated to our current times, for example now it used debit cards instead of cash. You keep track of your money with the electronic device that comes with the game (you'll need batteries for this) and the rules while similar, are now also a little different.
Oh and if you haven't noticed already, the board is circular. Which actually kind of works.
One of the first major difference that you'll notice between the original and the new Revolution are the music and sounds. For example when you go to jail you'll hear a cell door slam, or when you pass go some party music will play.
Looking at the board you'll also notice that the property prices have been adjusted to more realistic values now, so Boardwalk is now $4 million and Mediterranean Ave is $600K. But then it's all fair since players now start with a cool $15 mill and every time you pass GO you'll get another $2 mill for your cashbook.
There is also a lot more wheeling and dealing in this version. If you land on a property and decide not to buy it, then it goes up for auction where other players can purchase it (highest bidder gets it). Even the 'chance' cards (which are now called zone space cards) include opportunities for players to negotiate and force deals with other players.
Overall we really like this game. It's true that nothing will ever beat the original Monopoly game, but this is a fun update on it and kids especially will like the new features.
