The best of the game of Monopoly, plus the exclusive Godin variation which eliminates luck and makes it play in half the time (or less).

What's wrong with Monopoly?

Two things: Length and Luck

It takes too long to play. But worse, the luck involved in getting properties makes the game skew way too early.

BUT, you can get around all these problems by playing with the new Godin Rules.

The Godin Rules of Monopoly

How to eliminate luck and play faster

Okay, start by placing all the properties face up, in monopoly order.

Give each player $2000 in 500 dollar bills.

Assume 4 players (you can have as many as usual).

Player 1 picks a property. Player 2, then 3. Then player 4 picks TWO properties. Then 3, then 2. Then player 1 picks TWO. Go back and forth like this until all properties are distributed.

Then trade like mad.

Then start and play normally. Except no $1 bills (just round off).

An even cooler variation

(with more skill)

Everyone gets $3000.

Shuffle the properties.

Auction off each one, in random order, one by one. High bidder gets each property. Money goes into the bank.

(Careful to not run out of cash too early!)

Another variation is to auction them off in order, cheapest to highest value.
