Amazing foody lenses for charity!

Starting now and going all the way up until Thanksgiving Day the Big Hearted Squids and the Squid Angels are going to be contributing Food & Cooking lenses to our 2011 Squidoo Food Drive for charity.

These are lenses that have either been created or found by the Big Hearted Squids and the Squid Angels.

Each of the lenses on the list donate all or part of their royalties to one of our Squidoo charities.

Food Drive Quest Instructions for the

Big Hearted Squids and the SquidAngels

  • 1Create a Food & Cooking lens and donate all or part of the royalties to your favorite Squidoo charity then submit the lens as part of the 2011 Food Drive Quest.

    OR
  • 2Find a lens in the Food & Cooking topics on Squidoo to bless and submit THAT lens as your contribution to the 2011 Food Drive Quest.
  • 3The lens that you submit as part of the quest will appear below as your food drive contribution. Each person can only submit one lens...the NEW lens you create or the existing charity lens that you find on Squidoo (this does not have to be your own lens).
  • 4Submit your lens here on your Dashboard before November 25, 2011 to collect 200 SquidPoints.
  • 5Lenses will be added to this MonsterBoard as they come in.

Who are the Big Hearted Squids?

The Big Hearted Squids are lensmasters who have donated over $100.00 to charity on Squidoo since they joined. Generosity like this really adds up, and we're really proud to have created a platform that makes it easy for people to raise money for causes they love, for free. Prouder still of the people who create great lenses that make it possible to give a little or a lot to charity each month.

Who are the SquidAngels?

The Squid Angels are very much a human element on Squidoo. In fact they are dedicated lensmasters (just like you) who are representatives, voices, and a force for good. They spend a few hours per week looking through the the Squidoo community and championing great lenses.

    I'm thankful to be part of such a great community. For the food drive, I chose a Chicken and Rice Casserole created by a fellow Squid Angel, Heather426. Her lens donates to the Food for Everyone Foundation.

    I created this lens 05/11/2011 so not sure if it counts, if it doesn't that's okay...The reason I wanted to submit my own lens is because of the part that talks about Barb a woman who lives in my area and how making banana bread helped her build an orphanage in Uganda...I thought people should see a little help goes a long way...Homemade Banana Bread Recipe

    Thanks for the fun quest and opportunity to help others at Thanksgiving! I did a new lens, it's basically my entire traditional Thanksgiving menu with complete grocery shopping list and recipes for each item!     Everyone of my lenses is setup to donate a small amount to two charities. However, on the Thanksgiving and Snowman magazine lenses, I don't see where they contribute. If I can't see them on mine, how can I find them on the others?

    That is one of the disadvantages of the Magazines. There is no way of knowing if the lenses are set to donate. They also do not show purple stars or lens of the day designations.

    Lens I submited for the 2011 Squidoo Food Drive Quest does not donate to any charity, so I looked for another one. This one donates to Squidoo Charity Fund.

    Another question: If I choose not to write a lens, but to bless one that donates, how do I determine the ones who donate? I don't see a place on the lensmasters lens that says "proceeds from this lens go to.....", so how do I figure it out?

    Nancy, at the top of every lens it says if it donates to something. Check any of mine as I donate some on every lens so they all say it. to the left at the top above the name of the lens:)

    Can I contribute a Hunger in Children lens over for the food drive cause? It is already set to benefit in part Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund and Share Our Strength.

    Thank Bonnie. I submitted Hunger in Children. It is about a great special that Sesame Street did on Growing Hope Against Hunger, some of the ways that hunger impacts children and some of the things that can be done about it.
