Month of Gratitude

Make February a month to focus on the good things in life.
Wouldn't it be great if we followed that up with a month of gratitude? Why don't we take an entire month to cultivate the things that are *already* working just fine? I don't know about you, but by the end of January I could use a chance to refocus my attention on all that I already have accomplished, those things in my life that bring me joy and inspiration.
So, here's my challenge to you (and to myself): Let February be a Month of Gratitude. Do your best to celebrate and nurture all the awesomeness in your life. For example, instead of, "This year I will finally loose that fifteen pounds," try "This year I am so grateful to have a rocking body that can really shake it down on the dance floor (or in my locked bedroom. Whichever.)"
There's no rules to this thing. Choose something new to celebrate each week, day, millisecond. Whatever works for you. Just give it a try. See what happens. Post your results here so we can all share in the glorious glow of gratitudeness.
In gratitude,
MerryM

Welcome to the lens!
A little explination about the idea behind the Month of Gratitude lens.
Instant Gratitude

Let's get this lens off to a swift start. What are you grateful for in this instant? What's happening right at this moment that makes you glad to be in the now?
Can't think of anything? Sure you can. Even if it's just, "I'm so glad I've got internet access right here," give it a try.

Infinite Gratitude
So, did that first question get the gratitude juices flowing? Well, keep going with the flow and write out a list!
A gratitude list is a simple, powerful tool to help you realize what the heck you've got to be grateful for anyway. They can be as short as your top five favorite things about living on this amazing planet, or as long as 100 little things that add joy and beauty to your life.
Hmmm, why stop at 100, even? What a fun challenge it would be to write an ever-growing gratitude list! In fact, that's exactly what I'm doing. Click here to view my Infinite Gratitude List. Each day this month, I'll add three new things I'm grateful for. Who knows, maybe I'll even keep at it after February's over. I wonder how many things I can list before I can't think of anything new or original...
But, I shouldn't be the one having all the fun. How about we crowd source this gratitude list thing? Contribute to the Month of Gratitude's Infinite Gratitude list below, then vote for your favorite!

No need to stick to lists, either. Feel free to write poems, draw pictures, or even make magazine-picture collages. When it comes to infinite Gratitude, the sky's the limit!
Guided Gratitude
Shared Gratitude

Ok, now that you're all juiced up on gratitude, get out there and share it! Try showing your appreciation to those that made you smile, ease a burden, or helped you celebrate the good times in life. Thanking another person acknowledges the fact that you are grateful for their presence in your life. It makes them feel good, it makes you feel good, it's just good all around.
Got someone in your life that's so awesome, but you can't be there in person to let them know? Make a video thank-you card! You can film yourself saying thank you, write a song or poem, make a slideshow of pictures of the person you're thanking, or even break out a personalized gratitude list filled with everything you appreciate about them. Just be sincere, and have fun with it. (And you may want to give the person you send it to a heads up on needing a tissue.)
So, did you make a video thank you card? Or maybe you wrote a blog post? Let your show of gratitude be an inspiration to others! Plop a link to your thank you below, and let the world know how awesome that special someone really is.
