By the Light of the Silvery Moon

This photo was taken at the same time as the one above, only about an hour earlier in the evening. I love the way the moon seems to change as the evening progresses.

December 1st was a beautiful clear night and I decided to take an early evening walk in my neighborhood. I took along my camera to take photos of the Christmas decorations and was delighted to see a beautiful full moon. We had a late frost this year so there are still leaves on some of the Bradford Pear trees. This photo was taken of the moon just over the top of a tree.

This was a photo I got the first night I saw the full moon over the ocean. This photo was taken a little after 6 pm.

This was taken the same night as the first photo but about 20 minutes later.

This photo was taken about 30 minutes after the one above.

The second night was rather cloudy, but the moon still peaked through the clouds. It gave the sky an entirely different look.

I love the way the moon shines through the clouds. Since there was heavy cloud cover near the horizon, it was later before I could get any good photos.

This photo was taken several days later and after it was fully dark.

This photo of the Harvest Moon reflecting on a nearby lake was taken on October 4,2009. The Harvest Moon is considered to be the full moon nearest to the autumn equinox.

This photo was taken on July 5, 2009. I was able to capture fireworks under the full moon. I didn't have my tripod handy so it's not quite as clear as I would like...but I still like the effect of the fireworks under the moon.
