My entire life, I have always had a knack for drawing and art. But in 2001, I was involved in 2 very serious car accidents...and lost a huge amount of my cognitive skills. Not only did I have to walk again, I had to learn to hold a pencil again. This was more frustrating to me then having to learn to walk...because my art was always my way to- get away, my esacap....to deal with life. My passion... And I was robbed of it at the hands of other people. It took me years to over come....
About a year ago..through pure determination...I began trying again...I grabbed my pencil and cheap paper and struggled daily to get back what I so dearly loved. Soon, it started coming back to me in HUGE waves of frenzy...I couldnt practice enough( you should me pile of unfinished drawings).
I also took up photography ( with my cheapy lil digtal camera but it does the trick.)..and then taught myself Photoshop and began dabbling in digital art...

Even thoguh I still struggle greatly with physical problems from the accidents...my 'core' is healthy...

I truly believe that artists and those who share a true appreciation for art see the world a little bit differently than others. When I look at a sunset, I see a painting. When I see true beauty, I long to preserve it into something that will last forever. I paint in oils and acrylic. I paint a variety of subjects, but I am still exploring and learning hoping to find my little niche in the art world.
My name is Darlene Richardson. Born in Ohio and raised in Ohio and Florida, my love for beaches, boats, sunsets, and nature are often reflected in my paintings. You may also notice some northern influences with the mountain landscapes and gorgeous fall leaves that reflect the 30 years that I spent in Ohio. That is where I raised my four awesome children.who have encouraged me to pursue this natural God given talent.
My family is raised and on their own now, and I have returned to Florida to take care of my parents. I reunited with my high school sweetheart and now we take care of my father. I am so blessed to be able to do what I love...PAINTING and gardening. My husband and father built an artist studio for me and are very understanding when I am in paint mode because I tend to lose all track of time as I become absorbed in my work. Painting brings so much pleasure to me as I bring special memories to life in paintings that will last a lifetime.

Siri Lynn German has been a mixed media artist since the millenium of 2000. She does 3-D artwork from materials collected at beaches
and spoil islands along Florida's Space Coast. German uses plastic and ceramic tiles, wood slabs, mouse pads, place mats, and other backdrops
for her work. She also does abstract pen and ink drawings on canvas that focus on boating life.
Collecting her flotsam and jetsam is half the fun. 'I moor my boat across from deserted islands, swim ashore and collect one-of-a-kind fossilized
wonders. I return to the boat, bathing suit full of lumps, excited as an archaeologist.'
German, originally from Connecticut, has lived in Florida since 1990. She has traveled to over 25 islands in the Caribbean, Bahamas, Florida,
and Scandinavia. She is also a free-lance writer.

Carol Megivern

I'm Carol Megivern and years ago I loved to paint, but then raising a family became my priority. The kids have gone off to college, now. {a little tear rolls down my cheek} But, I have found the paintbrush again to fill that void.

I'm a self-taught artist, who grew up in Upstate New York and now reside on the east coast of Florida. I draw and paint what I see and what I feel from these two very diverse locations. My art consist of a variety of themes and mediums. My love for nature has spilled over into my love for painting! I truly believe, 'You have to enjoy what you do, and do what you love!' And I love to create, using mostly acrylics. But I love to go out of my comfort zone and will use whatever medium is near at hand when inspiration hits.
Now that the kids have both gone off to college, I've picked up my paintbrush and have become totally absorbed into painting! I also like to paint gnomes and fairies that I collect and put out in the yard, trees and under bushes. And sewing, knitting, gardening and working with house plants are some more favorites that I enjoy.

I'm a Pro photographer, worked many years in wedding photography, fashion and journalism in Europe. I have an education and degrees in photography, art and design.

I was living for many years in Key West and Charleston SC. My husband and I were traveling recently 8 months the roads in our RV 'Across America'. We have been from the East Coast to the West Coast and everything in between and yes, I made hundreds of photographs from this journey - some of them will be up for sale in my gallery 'My Travels' (coming soon).

Now we are residing at the beautiful East Coast of Florida and we are enjoying our life together. Maybe one day in the near future we will be again up and hitting the roads, because traveling is addictive and it's very fascinating!

I am 20 years old and I am a full time student at BCC for business and art. I am also a full time employee at The Highland Mint as a graphic designer, we make sports memorabilia and coins. I have a short amount of free time but painting and drawing is my passion and I have been doing it for as long as I can remember. I enjoy drawing fantasy and people the most, especialy women. I also enjoy getting commisions for any type of subject(so send me an e-mail if you like my art and are looking for a piece of your own). Art Statement and Influence:
'Art is a definition of self, and in this definition we seek to recreate perfect beauty' To me art is what the creater finds beautiful, its not art to me unless I am proud to show it. In my work I create what I want and what I see, it might not be perfect or the best but when I see it I see myself, my soul, my pride. This is my gift, appreciate it or not. I believe that art is a gift to your eyes. It should be what the viewer expects it to be and when I create something I try to make beautiful. I greatly enjoy the works of Salvador Dali and Alphonse Mucha. I also admire that fairy artists like Josophine Wall, Brian Froud, and Nene Thomas.

Art History:
Currently a graphic designer for the Highland Mint (2 years), 3 years of art in highschool, 3 semesters in college so far, won 1st twice and 2nd once in our school chalk festival, won purchase award at brevard art show, won 1st in 2d art at brevard art show, currently taking painting at BCC, Done a few commisons: murals, portraits, fantasy, animals, landscapes, ect.
