More Steampunk Gears to Crochet

Materials:

For each gear you will need a small amount of gray worsted weight yarn (such as Red Heart Super Saver) and a size H crochet hook

Gear One (solid-center gear pictured at top):

Size: 3 1/4" in diameter

Rnd 1: Ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 12 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of beg ch 3 (12 dc).

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same dc, 2 dc in next dc and in each dc around, join as before (24 dc).

Rnd 3: * Ch 2, hdc in same dc, ch 3, sl st in same dc, sl st in next 3 dc, rep from * around, sl st in last 2 dc and join w sl st in base of 1st gear "nub", fasten off (8 gear "nubs").

Weave in ends.

Gear Two (Open-centered gear pictured on bottom):

Size: 4" in diameter

Rnd 1: Ch 20, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 2, 35 hdc in ring, join w sl st in top of beg ch 2 (36 hdc).

Rnd 2: *Ch 2, hdc in same dc, ch 3, sl st in same dc, sl st in next 3 dc, rep from * around, sl st in last 2 dc and join w sl st in base of 1st gear "nub", fasten off (12 "nubs").

Weave in ends.
