    Morecambe and Wise - the most famous of all British comedy acts and I have adored them since my teen years. A timeless act in my view. Don't you think my avatar looks a little like Eric (without the glasses of course)?

    Hi Julie,

    Many thanks for dropping by. I guess with some things the proof of the pudding is in the tasting and so I invite you to check out some of the videos on this lens as a good starting point.

    Comedy and preference is subjective but I think Morecambe and Wise as the greatest for so many reasons. One of the things about them is that they started out when they were just young kids but their act was interrupted somewhat by being called up for national service but they teamed up again a little further down the line. Because they were together for so long they developed an almost super-natural ability for each others timing and the brotherly affection they have for each other really comes across (to me at least) when they performed. I used to like in their TV shows how Eric felt himself entitled to tease Ernie but no-one else could (I have the concession on that! he would say).
