Tom's Funky Pedals

Tom Morello is a very influential experimental guitarist. From Rage Against the Machine to Audioslave, Tom has played a huge role in the sound of every band he plays in. Somehow, he manages to pull off amazing leads, stupefying sounds, and all with style and character. In this lens, I will not only talk about Tom's pedals in general, but also their settings, and his signal chain.
Pedals on this list are in order of appearance on Tom's pedalboard, beginning with the guitar input.

Dunlop Cry Baby

Everyone knows what this pedal sounds like, it's used everywhere. Tom uses this pedal all the time for funky riffs, and effect filled leads. One of the best parts about this pedal: there are no settings to remember! Just roll your foot to mimic your favorite guitarist. This pedal, of course, is number 1 in Tom's signal chain.

Digitech Whammy WH-1

Another pedal that a ton of people use. This pedal doesn't take a whole lot of explaining, you just select how high or low you want your pitch to go, and rock your foot on it. So much fun. Tom has been said to use 2 octaves up, 1 octave up, and the octaver modes on the pedal.

Boss DD-2 Digital Delay

This pedal is used on many of Tom's lead parts. Listen to the solo of Like a Stone by Audioslave and you'll get a pretty good idea of what it sounds like. Delay is a core part of a lot of people's pedalboards, and adds a lot of color to anyones sound palette. Like all Boss pedals, this one is was made to last, and it has. Tom wrote his settings on the pedal, as seen in the picture.
The DD-2 is no longer in production, but the DD-3 is very similar to it.

DOD FX 40B Equalizer

I'm pretty sure that Tom has this pedal on almost all of the time that he's playing. It allows for a more focused sound for whatever sound range you're looking for.

Ibanez DFL-10 Flanger

A flanger is one of the essential modulation effects. It's about as fundamental as a chorus or distortion pedal; everyone uses these things. Ibanez is a very good producer of flanger pedals as well. Tom's settings can be seen in the picture. Ibanez discontinued this pedal a while ago, but recently made a new pedal, the FL9, that boasts the same circuitry as the original 80's pedal, but constructed closer tolerances for more consistency.
