 Every person should learn these words . I am going to list  words every day. I want all the readers to popularize these words by forwarding these words to your friends on a regular basis.It will help to Improve vocabulary,Improve knowledge

1   PER SE (pur'see) Adjective - Considered alone, taken individually
I bear no grudge against the principal per se, but the rules of the school are just not conducive to the creation of a good learning environment.

2   MEDIOCRE (meedee'owkr) Adjective - Of middling quality, neither good nor bad
After making some brilliant films early on in his career, the director came up wit

3   NOUS (naws) Noun - Good judgement and practical ability
Even at that tender age, he had the business nous to buy property just before t3he prices went up.

4   FACTOTUM (fak'towtum) Noun - A person who has tasks or responsibilities of all kinds, a jack of all trades
Our butler is the factotum of our household as he is also a cook as well as a driver.

5   MEDLEY (medlee) Noun, Adjective, Verb - A mixture of various things
He ended the concert with a medley of about twenty of his most popular songs, spanning his career of over fifteen years.

HAUTEUR (ho'tur) Noun - Haughty manner, Arrogance
The chairman delivered the speech with his customary detached hauteur, keeping himself at an arm's length with the daily affairs of the company.

7. PREDILECTION (pred'lekshun) Noun - A preference or bias in favor of something
Even though he had been hurt badly twice in bull-fight, he enjoys it even now; he seems to have predilection for such dangerous sport.

8   LITANY (lit(u)nee) Noun - A long list of unpleasant things, particularly things that are repeated
He was ready with a litany of excuses to explain his absence from the class the previous day, some of them quite hilarious and unbelievable.

9   MEEK (meek) Adjective - Quiet and obedient
It is his meek and mild nature that people take advantage of, and he readily carries out their orders.

10   NUZZLE (nuzul) Verb - Press or rub gently with the nose
As a wake-up call, my little dog comes on my bed and nuzzles my feet each morning at 7 o' clock sharp.



11 NONPAREIL (nonpu'rel) Adjective & Noun - Unrivalled or unique (person or thing)
Sir Donald Bradman was the batsman nonpareil - no other batsman has been able to come anywhere near his record average of 99.96 in test cricket in the last fifty years.

12 IDYLLIC (I'dilik) Adjective - Relating to a pleasant (almost ideal) phase of one's life, usually in a peaceful, non-urban environment
The doctor advised me to spend a week on a hill station, saying that the idyllic setting would be a big relief for me from the stressful environment I was working in.

13  OSTEOPATH (osteeu'path) Noun - A person who attempts to heal diseases by manipulation of affected parts of the body
The pain in my neck had been bothering me for a couple of years, finally I decided to go to the osteopath who carefully manipulated my damaged neck.

14 HURTLE (hurt(u)l) Verb- To move very fast, usually in a dangerous way
The children hurtled down the hill on their bicycles, thrilled at the speed and the freedom.

15 FAWNING (foning) Adjective - Obedient
They fawned over their rich uncle to please him so that he would give them some of his wealth.

16 REPEAL (ri'peel) Verb & Noun - To abolish, cancel a previously valid law or regulation
When the government took the decision to repeal the rather antiquated Foreign Exchange Regulation Act in India, exporters gave a sigh of relie

17 EMANCIPATE (i'mansu'peyt) Verb - To set free, e.g. from bondage or from a country, to free from legal, social, political or moral restraint
The slaves were overwhelmed by their emancipation from imprisonment after nine years.

18 SENTIENT (senteeunt) Adjective - Capable of feeling
It is difficult for any sentient person to understand how a murderer can so ruthlessly take someone else's life.

19 BANAL (bu'nal) Adjective - Very ordinary, Boring
What looked like a rather banal idea to begin with for a cola advertisement, soon took the shape of one of the most amazing TV commercials of all times.

20 VERGE (vurj) Noun & Verb - 1) Extreme edge or border 2) Incline downwards or in specified direction
It was only after it was discovered that the tiger was on the verge of extinction that the government has taken several steps to preserve the species.

21 QUIVER (kwivu(r)) Verb - Tremble, Shake
The hostel residents quivered with fear at the sight of the warden, who was extremely strict in imposing discipline in the hostel.

22 GENERATE (jenu'reyt) Verb - Cause, Produce, Create
The current cricket series between India and Australia has generated a lot of interest in the media as it comes after a rather troubled phase for Indian cricket.
23] PRECIOSITY (preshee'ositee) Noun - Extreme refinements or affectation of style, speech or taste
The principal of this institute talks with such fictitious preciosity that one cannot trust a word of what he says.

24] GIST (jist) Noun - Essence of a matter
The gist of the entire incident is that our friend here may soon find himself out of job, he informed us, summing up the whole situation.
