- My 24 week old Pitt Bull puppy ate a part of his round teething toy. We woke up to him throwing up, shivering and he had a very far away look...this was Christmas morning. We rushed him to the Emergency Animal Hospital and after an xray he was rushed into surgery. He came home last night and has been eating well. He hates being in his kennel but its mandatory for the next two weeks. At the cost of $2000. just for the surgery, I am looking into Pet Insurance. Most vet offices do not take payments and mine wanted 80% down before surgery and remainder at discharge. Merry Christmas to all pet owners and please be careful about what they chew on. Just because it is sold as a "pet toys" doesn't mean it is safe.

- We have a Bull Mastiff/Lab mix. His name is Nitro and he just turned a year old. He is a very big boy 130 lbs. On Wed. He was left unsupervised for a few hours. Thurs. he was eating grass, we thought his stomach was just upset. By Fri. morning he was vomiting and not interested in food or water. Fri. afternoon we took him to the vet. They gave him someting like an IV to rehydrate him, plus anti-nuasea meds. $400.00 dollars later, they sent us home and said watch him and if he vomits take him to the emergency vet and try to feed him ice cubes. Satuday morning he did not eat, drink or vomit. The vet said try a bland diet like boiled skinless boneless chicken and white rice. He was not interested and starting to get weak. We decided to take him to some of the best Vets around, Michigan State University. They listened to his symptons. They wasted no time and immediately took an x-ray. They found a blockage. He is in sugery now. I know he is in the best hands possible. The estimate for this proceedure for a dog this size starts at $3,000.

- Hi, my dog is a great dane puppy she's only 4 months old... she ate so many small rocks that she ended up needing surgery to remove it... really expensive, around 2 thousand dollars... so watch your puppies closelly when they go outside or even inside... besides the money, you don't wanna see how much pain they go trough before you find out what they ate.
