Our MOTHER and FATHER of the BRIDE SPEECH at our DAUGHTER'S WEDDING

Here is my personal speech that I gave at my daughters wedding. I also included her dad's speech because it was so touching, and to help other fathers that may be looking for speech ideas. Also on this lens are wedding speech books, I survived My Daughters Wedding tshirts and gifts, and links to other wedding and bachelor and bachelorette party related lenses. Our speeches really touched the wedding guests and had many of them in tears. I hope you enjoy them as well.

The Speech I Gave At My Daughter's Wedding

A Mothers Speech

type=text*For privacy reasons, I've changed the names.

I'd like to thank all of you for coming. We feel so blessed that our daughter has so many wonderful people who love and support her.

My daughter, I am so proud of you for many reasons.
I am proud of your faith and belief in God.
I am proud of the love and loyalty you have for your family and friends.
I am proud of your humbleness and the way you have always treated those less fortunate with dignity and respect.
Proud of your ability and willingness to forgive.
Proud of your independence, your education, and the career choices you have made.
I am so proud to say that my daughter makes a difference in the lives of children with Autism.
I am proud that you have dreams and are willing to reach for the stars and follow them.
I am proud of YOU, the wonderful beautiful women you have become and of the wonderful loving mother I know you will be one day.

On a lighter note, I am proud that you have never been arrested, (the room filled with laughter when I said this), hooked on drugs or chose stripping as your profession. (more laughter)

And last but not least, we are proud of the man you have chosen to marry. To David, the man who has conquered the bride's heart, and her mom's, I am proud to call you my son-in-law. Not only do you love our daughter, but it is obvious that you truly adore her. What more could I ask for.

Thank you to the Johnson family for welcoming our daughter into your lives with open arms and loving her as if she were your own.

To her grandparents, who have been married 50 years, thank you for your love and being a wonderful example to your children and grandchildren.

My daughter, i love you with all my heart. David, I love you too. Congratulations to the both of you.

Her Dad's Speech

Father of the Bride Speech

type=text*For privacy reasons I've changed the names.

I would like to thank everyone for coming. It's so nice to see everyone. The wedding was great and Ashley and David looked so beautiful together.

I would like to welcome David to my family, and his parents as well. They are all genuinely wonderful people. I would like to thank them for all that they have done to help make this such a special occasion.

I would also like to thank my wife for everything that she has done She has done a wonderful job raising our daughter.

David, I could tell you were special just by how much my daughter adored you and by how much you seemed to care about her and her feelings. You're going to be a great son-in-law that I'm sure I will be proud of. My daughter says she is only doing this once so it should be a long, loving, marriage.

My little princess Ashley, you make me so proud each and every day with the way you live your life. I love you so much. You are so loving and caring, always sticking up for the underdog. you have grown up to be every dads dream. You are beautiful, smart, hard working and honest. I am so very proud of the young women you have turned out to be. Not that I had any doubts. You were a well behaved kid that was always up for doing anything. I remember dragging you along to go fishing at the lake, which was a lot of fun. All those years I got to coach you in softball are memories I will cherish for a lifetime. One funny memory that stands out...is that you were the only girl on the team who carried a mirror in her back pocket. Those were the days.

I look forward to the future as you start your own family and build your own memories. You will make a wonderful mother some day.

A little advice. Always say I love you when you say goodbye. Stay loyal and honest, and stand by each others side. If you do so, nothing can come between you.

So let us raise our glasses and toast to Ashley and David. Ashley has been like a ray of sunlight on my soul since the day she was born. Now, she begins a new life and there will be another man to whom she will turn to for love and protection. But I want her to know that her daddy will always be there for her.

Cheers to Ashley and David's health and happiness. I love you both.

(A lot of them MEN at the wedding said that they were on the verge of tears listening to this speech....and some actually DID have tears.)

My Advice For Your Speech

My advice is....

to say something sweet, say something funny, and to speak from the heart. And of course, keep a tissue in your hand because there will be tears :)

I really enjoyed the speeches - for parents who are letting a daughter go - it can be a very emotional time. The speeches were touching!
