Mother Gothel Costume Accessories

Her fingernails are dark red. It's hard to tell exactly what colour they are in the lighting that they are usually seen in! The red is, as far as I can tell, a slightly darker colour as her dress fabric. There are both false nails and red nail polish available in all the right lengths and colours.

I know nothing about lipstick except that it tends to come off when you eat, so all I can tell you is that her lips are clearly not a natural colour, that the lipsticks I've picked out are a close match to the pink she's wearing (there are so many shades of pink on Amazon!), and that it is shiny.

She's probably wearing pink blusher on her cheeks, but whether you need that entirely depends on your own complexion (if you're drawing her, just remember - pink cheeks!). As more cosplays are made, there will be more in the way of information and actual tutorials available from people!

Eyeshadow is in two colours - gold-bronze on the eyelid, fading slightly down to her eyelashes, and a dark bronze-brown up along the eye socket. There are dozens of brands and products available, so whether you mix and match, or buy a complete set of colours, or opt for the 'duo' options (such as the two below) is up to you!

Mother Gothel actually has a couple of different baskets and a belt pouch that she puts the crown in later - this large, rounded, wicker basket is the basket you see the most, early on in the movie when she's still bringing food to Rapunzel (parsnips, in this case...)

And while we're talking about hazelnuts, some hazelnut soup would be a delicious Tangled-themed food for any Tangled party or event!

Mother Gothel appears with a hairbrush in hand a couple of times in the film - brushing Rapunzel's hair as they sing the 'flower gleam and glow' song, causing Rapunzel's hair to glow and rejuvenate Mother Gothel. It's the same one that Rapunzel is seen brushing her hair with in front of the mirror - a gold coloured metal or wood brush with white bristles and intricate carvings all over the back. This is Rapunzel, though - she probably has a dozen different brushes!

In the concept/early release art, Mother Gothel appears holding a different hairbrush - a dark coloured one. It makes sense for Rapunzel to have several hairbrushes, the only thing to be sure of is that they're all paddle-type brushes, not combs, or anything too modern. Look for some kind of boar bristle paddle brush, preferably wooden, and you should be fine.

The musical toy hairbrush set is not accurate (only the pattern on the pink one is, and that is covered by a picture of Rapunzel), but the (tiny, accessory) hairbrushes that come with two of the Rapunzel dolls are (they are tiny, but the pattern looks right, and the colour - silver - is a much closer match).

In the above screenshots, you can see that:

• The blade is slightly leaf shaped
  
• The hilt is golden and the blade silver
  
• There is a spiral pattern (probably a leather wrap, but it could be wire) around the handgrip
