As a Mom of four boys and two stepsons, I can sincerely say, "there are no words to describe a mother's love". However, there are several mother son songs that will bring a tear to your eye.
Being a writer of poetry and song lyrics, I've penned about many topics, but I have to say that trying to find the words to capture my love for my children has been the toughest writing missions I've ever tackled. I've written a few poems for my sons, but am still chasing the ideal descriptive words. If I Could by Barbra Streisand: Get ready to shed a tear or two! What an incredible song. These lyrics are beautifully descriptive. Apparently Barbra Streisand dedicated this song to her son. The lyrics just give me goose-bumps...."but the part of life I gave you isn't mine, I've watch you grow so I could let you go...If I could, I would help you make it through those hungry years, but I know that I could never cry your tears, but I would, if I could" - Tell me, is that not what a mother feels - this one is close to perfect, and my personal fave.
You Are Loved (Don't Give Up) by Josh Groban: Although this is sung in a males voice, the lyrics are ideal for a Mom wanting to express unconditional love and inspirational encouragement. In my own personal opinion, this song is not a great selection for a wedding song, however it's perfect for a situation when Mom wants to show her undying support.
I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You, by Savage Garden: Again, these lyrics are sung in a males voice, but the lyrics can be interpreted as what a mother feels when she's expecting her child. This song could certainly be used for a wedding dance between mom and son, but it also makes a great dedication for other special occasions.
The Man You've Become sung by Molly Pasutti:This song has clear, crisp words that tell of a mother's love for son as he's grown from a little boy to the man he is today. The lyrics are direct with very little use of metaphors leaving the listener with a precise description of a mother's love for her son. Again, this is a perfect Mother Son Wedding Song.
A Song for Mama by Boyz 2 Men: If a son is looking for a song to dedicate to his mother, then this song should make the short list. The words are the perfect thank you to bring a mom to happy tears. What a selection for Mother's Day!
You Are My Sunshine: Well this classic is perfect to describe the love between Mother and Son. I know, because I would sing this at bedtime to all my boys and as the years went on they kindly said, "be quiet mom!".
This Is Your Song: Ronan Keating sings this beautiful, incredible, and moving dedication to his mother. The song will bring you to tears. I came upon it quite by accident, and being a mom of sons, it touched me deeply.

My Wish by Rascal Flatts: This song will give you goosebumps so get ready! The lyrics are a great message from mom expressing her wish for her son.."if it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile, but more than anything, my wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it too.." - A great song for mom to dedicate to her son on graduation day, or any other major stepping stone in his life.
I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womak: One of the best country songs ever written. The words in this song will live on forever..."and when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance". The words are great choice for wedding if mom wants to share advice and dreams with son.
A Mother's Song by TCarterMusic.com: If you're looking for simple song, with words that speak directly of the love, hope and advice a mother has for her son, then this would be a great pick. The country tone in this song almost comes across as a folk song, and the words make this song a good selection for a mother son wedding dance.
