Eat your vegetables!!

Now we all knew why mom wanted us to eat our vegetables. Because they are good for us.But the taste was yucky.I remember gagging on stuff I didn't like. I just couldn't make myself eat certain things. Now that I am grown up. I love vegetables. I love all kinds. I even found out that I liked asparagus, which i couldn't stand as a child. I think even though our children don't eat all of their vegetables most still grow up healthy. As long as good nutritional food is offered.

When we were kids
"Because I said so!!!!!!"
Because your mom says

Honestly that is the silliest excuse for a why question. Why can't they just tell you the reason for having to pick up your toys?."So, you don't step on them, Cathy". "But mom, I won;'t step on them, I promise"."You still have to pick them up Cathy!!" But mom why?? "Because I said so"!!! It is so much easier just to say that in the beginning now isn't it??
Wear a sweater or you will catch your death of cold!!

I am not sure why people thought that cold weather would cause you to catch a cold. But even today people still believe this.According to the web site Web MD: The most common causes of the common cold are viruses There is no evidence that you can get a cold from exposure to cold weather or from getting chilled or overheated But a person can still get frostbite without wearing warming clothes and hats and gloves in freezing weather. So maybe we should listen to our mothers after all.
Catching The Common

My Father
Did your mom tell you to wait for your dad to get home??Were you scared?
Just Wait Till Your Father Gets Home!!!!

Yeah that didn't scare me much. My daddy spoiled me rotten. He would ask me if I wanted my spanking now or later?? Well I always said "Later" My dad never laid a hand on me. Or yelled a me. So, I was not even have scared of him. Did your mom ever use the threat of waiting till your father gets home? Did it scare you??

Fetching new data from eBay now... please stand byAre your arms broke??

This one i remember well because when I stayed with my aunt she used to say this to me a lot. Then, I carried it down to my children. They would tell me they could not do something and I would ask them "Why, are your arms broke?" They always ended up doing whatever it was that I asked. So, Are your arms broke??
When my son, Kevin was about 8, he fell and broke his collar bone. So, he had his arm in a cast. He loved to poke fun at me and say. Yes, Mom my arm is broke. I thought that was cute.
You better watch what you are saying!!!
I'll wash that mouth out with soap!!!

- This is a really nice lens and so true!!! Every day I catch myself repeating more and more mom- & dad-isms, some of which I thought I'd forgotten all about. I think that becoming our parents is inevitable to some degree. Great job! (and thank you for the Angel blessing on my Strasburg lens!)

- This lens is a great collection of things mom used to say! I'm sure I said most of them, too without realizing it! :)
