Finding the Perfect Mother's Day Gift
Learn the best way to create that mothers day gift or craft, the one that shouts out the thoughts is what counts.

Finding the Perfect Mother's Day Gift

Every year, I rack my brain for the perfect gift to give my mom on Mother's Day. I take special care to buy or create a great present because Mother's Day falls during the same week as my mom's birthday, sometimes even falling on the same day. I try to go the extra mile with homemade Mothers Day gifts not just because I think Mothers Day crafts make very personal gifts, but also because I know my mom has a soft spot for crafty items.

My mom is a crafter. Starting with my high school graduation and continuing through all four years of college, my mom spent countless hours gathering photos, clipping quotes and browsing scrapbook page ideas to put them together in beautiful scrapbooks. My mom spends months looking up scrapbooking ideas and coming up with an appropriate theme for each year. She has done everything from documenting my career to utilizing ever letter of the alphabet to describe my many traits. Her work is beautiful and always from the heart.

Continuing On Finding The Perfect Mothers Day Craft

So this year, I wanted to do something extra special for Mother's Day. I spent days online researching mothers day crafts and gifts, but I couldn't find anything that I hadn't tried before. I had done many easy to make mothers day gifts, like handmade greeting cards, picture frames and decorated vases, and I wanted something new. Ideally, I would make my mom a scrapbook that was just as elaborate as the ones she had given me. Unfortunately, I had neither the time nor resources to do so. Knowing my mom's love for paper crafts, I was inspired to create a mini book filled with notes and letters. This was a great way for me to utilize gorgeous papers and designs, and still write a personal message for mom.

Mother's Day is coming up soon and I'm excited to give mom her gift. I'm hoping she will appreciate all the care that went into making it, and I'm excited for the added surprise of flying home to spend the weekend with her and presenting it in person. If that's not a great Mother's Day gift, I don't know what is.

How I Show What My Mom Means to Me With Mothers Day Crafts

By Christine Doheny, Editor for FaveCrafts.com

My mom is the most amazing person in the world. Not only is she my mom, but she's also my dad. My parents are divorced and I grew up without a father figure. My mom raised four girls all on her own, so I commemorate her for that! Aside from having us girls she has two grandsons and five nieces, which makes her a pretty luck lady. Often times for special occasions my sisters will ask me what are some great gifts for mom from the heart that we can give her? It's hard to find something as special as she is.

My mom taught me everything I know. She was there for me when I finally stopped walking on my knees and onto my feet, she helped me tie my shoes, she was there for me when I had my first breakup and she was there for me when I fell in love. And she'll definitely be there to walk me down the aisle next summer!

Continued On With What My Mom Means To Me On Mothers Day Crafts

With the holiday coming up so quickly I'm trying to think of creative gifts for Mother's Day. When I was younger I used to write her all kinds of cute Mothers day cards. Now that I'm older they're not so cute anymore, but whatever comes from the heart is what she'll remember forever. I once wrote her a funny Mothers day poem too, but who hasn't done that before? Along with my Mom that I already have, I'm gaining a new mom, my mother-n-law.

My soon to be mother-n-law is a soccer mom. My fiancé played soccer all his life starting at four-years-old through playing on a scholarship in college. I figure once we start having kids our child will play soccer as well which will make me an amateur soccer mom. I've been around the game for six years now, but I still know nothing about it, kind of sad I know. Of all the knowledge I've gained from my mom and the things she's taught me, I hope I can be just as great a mom as she is. She played the role of two parents and for her to have that much love to give is just a blessing!

Aside from being two parents she's also a grandma who's always looking for things to do with the kids. Crafting with them is one thing to get their minds going and to show their creative side. She once made a cool sequin and bead craft with them. The kids were so excited they made it by themselves (with the help of grandma) and it turned out so pretty. You can always go to grandmas for a good time. She's always got goodies on the table for you to eat. Thanks mom for being who you are and loving me with everything you have! Happy Mother's Day!

I hope you enjoy these Mother's Day crafts. These crafts go great with buying flowers, chocolate, audio books or other coupons of service such as cleaning the house, Doing yard work and for wiser mothers who aren't hip with technolgoy downloading songs for them to listen to.

Sorry, ran out of characters. so, continuing.
Then, the last piece (a rectangle), shall be the spine of the book. So, you glue the rectange to the packets and cut of the exceeding of the rectangle. (CAUTION: There should be at least half cm exceeding the packets on all sides)
So, finally, you glue the covers to the spine using silicon, or a hard glue, and decorate them (along with the spine) as you wish.

HINT: If you want the book to look more festive, maybe you should try decorating the covers and the spine before pasting them!

For any questions you may write to fernie_swimmer@hotmail.com

Well, what I'm doing for this Mother's day, is making a book, which I bind on my own. In it, I'll include photos of our family, letters, poems and stories we've written. In the first pages I'm putting well wishes from our family. The book binding, is easy. I looked around for book binding techniques and ended up mixing some.
    So, what I did was;
Get at least 3-5 sets of 4 pages size A4. This pages will be folded in half, so they'll end up being 8 pages of the book.
Then, (This is the hard part), I sowed each packet of 4 pages folded in half together using a needle and thread. This may be hard work because sometimes the paper is hard.
After I sowed them together, I glued them together, applying glue on the spine of each packet, and stacking them all together.
Then, I went for some cardboard (hard but flexible), and some decorative papers. So, I cut the cardboard in 3 pieces. 2, (of the same size), will be the covers. 1.5 inches larger on 3 sides. Then, last piece (a rectangle),
