Hands that Love One by One by One

When my husband was dying of cancer, the 24 hour care he would need was beyond our financial means (we had no insurance, of course), and beyond  my capacity.  I'm a people person. A paper person.  A computer person.  I am NOT, and never have been, a nursing or a doctor person.

From the day I woke up from a snooze in anatomy class to discover the person next to me dissecting a frog, I knew that this type of thing was not for me.

Yet, this incredibly ill man, who I loved with my whole heart, was coming home alone with me, and  no one else to help care for him.

As I was agonizing over what to do, a novena of the late Mother Theresa's came to me in the mail.  I prayed the novena and agonized.  Exactly as promised, one day a change came over me.  Miraculously I was able to care for this wonderful human being AS HE NEEDED TO BE.  He died well, he died beautifully, he died loved, he died cared for, he died peacefully.  Mother came to our rescue.

I later attended her  beatification ceremony at St. Peter's Basilica.

I am building this page in gratitude for all Mother did.  I recommend that you, too, when you need her, ask for her help.

Thank you for  your patience as I build this page.  It takes  a LOT to do this incredible woman justice.

Mother Teresa

+LDM Mon, Jun 04, 2007
Dear Margaret,

Fr. Brian MC, the Postulator of the cause of Canonization of Mother Teresa is finishing to write a book on Mother Teresa's interior life, the darkness that she lived in for almost 50 years. Please kindly pray that this book will be soon available for all to read and discover more through Mother Teresa how much Jesus loves each one of us. It is supposed to be out on September 4, Mother Teresa's 10th death anniversary.

Please kindly pray that the message of Mother Teresa through the work we are doing, may shine forth in the world of today, that "God still loves the world through you and through me today;" that the poorest of the poor, the unwanted, the lonely, the rejected and each one of us may know and experience how much God loves us personally.

God bless you and keep you in His Love.

Sr. M. Elisabeth MC

Mother Theresa was 'Super Aware'
Mother Teresa was not sophisticated. But she was smart ? very smart. She was aware ? super aware. She was also very simple in her understanding of Christ's presence in the world in and through every person.

That she did not ?feel? God's presence mattered not to her. That is the mark of the genuine dark night. She saw Christ present in every single person whom she met. And that is what Christianity is all about.

Sister Leggol is the founder of the Sociedad Amigos de los Niños (www.saninos.org.hn). The aim of the organization is to give abandoned and abused Honduran children a loving home, an education and prospects for future employment, creating a future not only for them but for the country. In the half-century she's been at it, Sister Leggol estimates she's been a ?mother and father? to roughly 40,000 such children, many of whom are what she calls ?moral orphans? ? so badly failed by their own parents as to be effectively without a family.

Category: Special - :Booksources/0062508253|ISBN 0-06-250825-3.Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997) Roman Catholic nun with Indian citizenshipMother Teresa | Humanitarian who founded the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata (Calcutta), India in 1950. For over 45 years she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying, while guiding the Missionaries of Charity's expansion, first throughout India and then in other countries.

By the 1970s she was internationally famed as a humanitarian and advocate for the poor and helpless, due in part to a documentary, and book, Something Beautiful for God by Malcolm Muggeridge. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 1980 for her humanitarian work. Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity continued to expand, and at the time of her death it was operating 610 missions in 123 countries, including hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis, soup kitchens, children's and family counselling programs, orphanages, and schools.

She has been praised by many individuals, governments and organizations; however, she has also faced a diverse range of criticism. These include objections by various individuals and groups, including Christopher Hitchens, Michael Parenti, Aroup Chatterjee, Vishva Hindu Parishad, against the proselytizing focus of her work including a strong stance against abortion, a belief in the spiritual goodness of poverty and alleged baptisms of the dying. Several medical journals also criticised the standard of medical care in her hospices and concerns were raised about the opaque nature in which donated money was spent.http://www.newstatesman.com/200508220019

Following her death she was beatified by Pope John Paul II and given the title Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.Associate Press. (October 14, 2003). "Full house for Mother Teresa ceremony". CNN. Retrieved May 30, 2007."Blessed Mother Teresa". (2007). Encyclopædia Britannica. Retrieved May 30, 2007.

I didn't get to meet Mother Teresa when I was in Calcutta, but I did visit two homes run by the Missionaries of Charity and saw their good work firsthand. Amazing woman. Wonderful tribute. 5*
