Losail Circuit (Qatar)

Losail Circuit - Qatar (Photo from MotoGP Website)

The Losail circuit is the first race on the Moto GP calendar, it is located just outside of Doha in Qatar. Construction cost about $58m dollars and was opened in 2004. Due to the sandy composition of the area the circuit has been surrounded by artificial grass. This was introduced to help curb the encrouching sand. The temperatures during the day are so hot that the Moto GP race takes place in the evening under lights and was the first night race in the Series history.

It is one of the more challenging tracks on the calendar due to its plethora of tight corners, but always provides loads of action and tight finishes.
