A new engine gets dropped in

After the bodywork and spraypainting at Mamics the Mighty Boy was transported back to Newcastle Auto Dismantlers to get the engine put back in.

We've gone from a 500 to an 800. And I must say having driven it in since these photos were taken you can feel the difference.

I won't be involved in any illegal drag racing any time soon with it still being a 3 cylinder, but it's got enough grunt to accelerate up a hill without suffering an automotive cardiac arrest.

The engine block is still the same size, but the pistons are larger.

Pick an engine, any engine... unfortunately we couldn't go much bigger than the 800 without having to do some major work and re-engineering the engine bay.

Vroom vroom...

This 1/4 size model of a V8 engine would probably be too big to fit under the hood of the Mighty Boy.

What do you think so far? Be kind as I'd hate to hurt the little Mighty Boy's feelings.

Whoa, looks like quite an engine, albeit a 3 cylinder? Lookin' good! Hmmmm .... I sure hope they didn't scratch that new paint job! Next lens please! Sincerely, Fran
