Motorized Bikes

There are two kinds of motorized bikes, electric bikes and electric power assisted bikes. These are one of the most popular low power and low cost transportation methods available to us at the moment. These are not powerful transportation methods that can develop high speeds, but they are very easy to use, maintain and most of all they are cheap to use. You can recharge the battery using any renewable power source such as wind power or solar energy, which makes them clean powered and basically inexpensive, which is probably the greatest advantage to motorized bikes of this type.

Well, motorized bikes of electric sort are divided into two types, E-bikes and pedelecs. The difference is very basic, the e-bikes have an automatic throttle on the handlebars and the pedelecs have sensor pedals that match the accumulated power you generated through pedaling, in other words they are semi-automatic.

The question you are probably asking is which one to choose. Well they are both great, what it all comes down to are your needs and requirements. If you don't mind a bit of pedaling in return for a lighter bike that can go more in the long run they your choice should be pedelecs. On the other hand if you want more power in the short run without any effort than you will go for E-bikes.

The biggest choice you will have to make is the form of your bike and the weight. You can have a folding electric bike, electric pocket bike or electric mini bike, each one of these has its advantages, the biggest one being that these are all compact bikes that you can carry around. But depending on the choice of your battery and the motor the weight might be substantial and if the weight is too heavy, it is not easy to carry around or to try and push up the hill if your battery runs out. So you have to think of the electric cycle that will best suit your needs, in other words, will you go for power or durability.

Whatever your choice may be, motorized bikes of the electric kind are really the thing of the future, the benefits are endless, starting from the cost of maintenance to preserving the environment all the way to simple enjoyments a bike ride can get you.
