Unlike the Motorola Razr, Krzr and Slvr the Motorola Rizr is not a clam style phone but a slider style phone. This means that it comes with a super sleek sliding mechanism to open the phone, a change from the flip clam opening style of most of the other popular Motorola handsets.
The sleek slider phone comes is a choice of stylish colours & has a slim, narrow casing. The Motorola RIZR is 16 mm in depth, 106 mm in length & 46 mm in width which is compact & easy to handle. The phone can be used in its open & closed position as it comes with external keys as well as an internal keypad. The RIZR has a user friendly navigation key which can be accessed when the phone is in its slide open or slide closed position. The phone weighs 115 grams which is a solid weight & provides the user with a good feel to the handset. The Motorola RIZR is also known as the MotoRIZR & has been designed beautifully by Motorola with the users needs in mind.

The phone comes with a large TFT screen which measures 1.9 Inches & displays up to 262k colour. the screen has a 176 x 220 pixel screen resolution. The user can change their screensavers & wallpapers to suit their taste. The screen works as a full colour viewfinder for when the user is taking photos & recording video. The RIZR has a two megapixel camera feature which comes with a high intensity camera light for the user to capture their photos & video in darker environments. The user can use the handset like a digital camera as the camera comes with camera keys situated on the side & the screen works as a landscape viewfinder. The Motorola RIZR allows the user to capture their memories & experiences as full colour moving footage with the video record feature. The user can record, play & save video footage on their mobile phone.The quad band technology allows the user to use their mobile phone worldwide which works over GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900. The quad band network will switch between the bands automatically without the user having to lift a finger. The RIZR comes with a WAP browser which allows the user to access the Internet from their mobile handset. The phone comes with EDGE which provides a fast & efficient data transfer speed. The built in Bluetooth® technology provides the user with a wirefree connection between Bluetooth® compatible devices. The user can use a USB cable to access data & download files. The user can transfer their music files using the USB connection & store their music on their mobile phones memory. The Motorola RIZR comes with 20 Mbytes of built in memory but the user can insert a MicroSD%u2122 memory card into the designated memory slot for up to 1 Gbyte of storage.
The RIZR comes with multiple messaging capabilities which include text messaging, enhanced messaging, multimedia messaging & instant messaging. The user can send photos & video clips to friends using the multimedia message service. The messages are all easy to access from the phones main menu & are easy to create & send. The Motorola RIZR comes with a built in music player which supports a variety of music formats including MP3, AAC, AAC+ & AAC+ Enhanced music format. The user will have music on the move with the user friendly music player & the user can change their ringing tones to suit their taste.
The user can access their music feature, calendar, phone book & other applications whilst on a flight with the flight mode feature.
