  • Steve_Kaye Apr 22, 2012 @ 4:12 pm | delete
Beautiful photos. Here's a fun point: The Bar-headed Goose has been seen flying over Mount Everest. Imagine spending days climbing this huge mountain, and when you finally reach the top, you hear a goose honking overhead.
  • WordCustard Apr 22, 2012 @ 4:17 pm | delete
That would indeed be quite a sight! It must be an amazing bird to have the ability to fly so high.
  • Ramonailona Apr 18, 2012 @ 9:25 pm | delete
I miss the Mountains. I now live in flat land country. There is not even a hill near by. Depressing at times. But thanks to your Lens it picked me up. trying not be home sick though.
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Apr 14, 2012 @ 10:33 pm | delete
Stunning! Of course, my current favorite mountain peak is the one (well, four actually) in my backyard. I feel so blessed to be able to live so near to some of the most beautiful mountains in all of North America. I like the way you presented each image. Very nicely done.
  • kindoak Apr 5, 2012 @ 4:51 pm | delete
This is excellent lens. I grew up in Ecuador with the Andes. Mount Cotopaxi is a worthy mountain - or volcano actually :)
  • dc64 Mar 21, 2012 @ 12:10 pm | delete
Okay, so the rooms in my house all have a specific theme...my bedroom is medieval, my living-room is Egyptian, my kitchen is French, my bathroom is a ship and so on. Now, if I combine the idea of some of your lenses, like the window ones with the scenery ones, I could window-frame out a beautiful poster like one here that matches my decor, and enhance the look and feel of each room of my house. I'm getting excited just thinking about it!
  • agoofyidea Mar 10, 2012 @ 10:06 am | delete
I love mountains, too. I was blessed to work at Mt. Rainier National Park for two summers.
  • tebor79 Mar 5, 2012 @ 9:27 pm | delete

Beautiful, beautiful lens. I love mountains, although the only ones I've ever seen are the weathered, rounded down ones in the Appalachians. Your photo of the Scottish mountains
    reminds me of the Appalachians.

  • Sylvestermouse Sep 21, 2010 @ 1:33 pm | delete
These are indeed all fabulous! A little story probably only you will enjoy, but I will share; We climbed a mountain in Scotland. It was incredibly beautiful standing up there and looking down at all of the beautiful pastures. The houses and animals were little more than dots and we felt like we were on top of the world. Then the wind hit. I was knocked backwards off my feet. When I tried to get my footing again, the wind decided to just pick me up. My husband grabbed me and held on. That was quite scary and even though I was not really lifted very high, I swore if I got off of that mountain safely, I would never climb another mountain :) I did not promise that I would not stand on the ground and admire them though. These are all gorgeous!
  • WordCustard Sep 22, 2010 @ 4:46 am | delete
My dear... next time you go paragliding be sure you have a wing! :) Sounds dangerous and I'm not the least bit surprised it happened here in Scotland. Our mountains do tend to be a bit wild!
  • Sylvestermouse Sep 26, 2010 @ 12:24 pm | delete
Yes! Quite so! A wing and weights! LOL You know I would do it again in a New York second! One of the greatest experiences of my life. When I return to Scotland, I think you should go up that mountain with me. I will have to ask my husband for sure, but I think that was the one with the chalk white horse on the side. I do know there were lots of fearless sheep :)
  • flowergardener Sep 15, 2010 @ 5:19 am | delete
I've never seen any of these mountains in person, so thank you very much for the great images. I especially love the ones with the lakes, although all views of mountains brings a calm to my soul.
  • WordCustard Sep 15, 2010 @ 7:58 am | delete
Thank you, Flowergardener. I too find mountain views wonderfully relaxing. I'm glad you enjoyed the ones I've shared here.
  • Ramkitten Sep 12, 2010 @ 7:07 pm | delete
How beautiful! I had the opportunity to see the Himalayas firsthand this past summer, and as amazing as photos can be, the real thing was just breathtaking. That Ama Dablam Mountain looks a lot like Fishtail Peak (Machhupuchhare), which is a sacred mountain that cannot legally be climbed. When the clouds lifted, I had a perfect view of Fishtail and the Anapurnas. But I'll have to see Everest the next time I go to Nepal.
  • WordCustard Sep 13, 2010 @ 10:26 am | delete
Oh I can well believe there is nothing quite like being there, particularly when it comes to the Himalayas. What an experience that must have been! I bet you have some amazing memories that will stay with you all your life.
  • CastleRoy Sep 11, 2010 @ 1:30 pm | delete

I think mountains are beautiful and the mountain images shown here reflect that beauty. I grew up vacationing in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State, and have visited the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I 'nervously' drove through a portion of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and, most recently, lived in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in South Carolina. I don't think I could ever climb a mountain, but love looking at their vista on the horizon.
  • WordCustard Jan 23, 2010 @ 6:32 am | delete
I would love to see some of those mountains, even the names sound wonderful! I'm lucky that at least the Alps are fairly close at hand for me. Thanks for stopping by.
