I learned to play the dulcimer when I was in college in the mid-seventies. A friend brought several that her husband had made to school. They looked exactly like this.
Dulcimers are very easy to learn to play. I had one for only a few hours and already was playing it and singing along very happily. This kind of instrument is one that will brighten your spirit and make you feel in touch with the rhythm of the earth.

- Oh Linda Jo... I could spend all day on this lens! How beautiful! Believe it or not, I actually BUILT a mountain dulcimer back in the day... It was from a kit and it didn't turn out very great, but I had fun with it for years. I will say this: You have me wanting another dulcimer! I love to sing so much... this is SO my style... - Great lens! I hope to begin playing the mountain dulcimer very soon. Thanks for sharing the beautiful music. I may need to connect lenses since I'm doing a series on all things related to joyous mountain living. This music is certainly a part of that. All the best!
