Mousehunt Tips
MouseHunt is a popular application on Facebook that uses passive gameplay to help the player, referred to as the hunter, catch mice with a variety of traps in order to earn experience points and gold. To keep the growing MouseHunt community entertained, from time to time the developers add new locations and mice to the game. MouseHunt was developed by members of HitGrab, Inc.
This lens is a collection of guides and tips to supplement Mousehunt Wiki based on my personal experiences as a Mousehunter. If your new to this game, I would advice to go over the Mousehunt Wiki site before going over the tips.
Beginner Tips (Novice to Apprentice Tips)

- Tacky Glue Trap vs. High Tension Spring:
Tacky Glue Trap will be a better choice because the 40% Accuracy bonus will help you attract mouse. Don't worry about it if you chosen High Tension Spring already, you will change your trap in no time. - Stay in Town of Gnawnia using Cheddar Cheese until you are Apprentice, don't bother going to Meadow and using other cheese. You will save up gold fast this way.
- Buy Wooden Base with Target as soon as you can afford it. The addition 20% Accuracy bonus will boost your attraction rate.
- 500 Pound Spiked Crusher vs. Mouse Mary O'Nette:
Mouse Mary O'Nette will be a better choice because it is simply more powerful, attract better and luckier. If you are using 500 Pound Spiked Crusher already, don't buy Mouse Mary O'Nette, save your gold for a better one. - Once you are Apprentice. Stock up Marble Cheese and travel to Harbour. You can either use your left overs Cheddar at Harbour then swtich to Marble or you can sell it to buy more Marble. Stay hunting there until you reach Journeyman.
- Buy Stone Base as soon as you can afford it. Although this upgrade you will lose 20% Accuracy bonus, the power increase makes it a worthy upgrade.
Apprentice to Journeyman

- Mouse Trebuchet vs. Mouse Rocketine. Mouse Trebuchet will be a better choice dispike it is less powerful. It is a more balance trap overall and it is cheaper. If you are already using Mouse Rocketine, stick with it until you can buy better. Take your time hunting on Ha
- Travel to Mountain once you are Journeyman, hunt with Marble until you have Swiss Army Mouse Trap andExplosive Base (Exp). You should consider changing your bait to Swiss Cheese after the upgrades if you still don't have the Laboratory Map Piece from a Ninja mouse. Or you can simply try your luck with Marble and save the gold for your next trap.
- NVMRC Forcefield Trap (FF) vs. Mouse DeathBot (DB). FF will be a better choice. Slighty less powerful, but it is the luckiest trap you can buy now. Sometimes it seems like luck is all you need to catch a powerful mouse.I would also recommend buying /getting the component of the Dehydration base (or if Ronza's Bazaar is available buy the Polar Base) at his point because it's very effective on the next map while you wait to get the rank of Master
- If you have the reach Master already and still don't have the map piece, you should really consider changing your bait to Swiss or even Brie if you are desperate although not recommended.
Master to Grand Master

- Travel to Laboratory when you reached Master and have the map. Use Swiss as your initial bait. It is very important to stock up as many cheese as possible before you goto Lab because the travel cost is very expensive. Stay hunting at Lab until you have both the Key to Digby from a Dwarf mouse and Tattered Mousoleum Cloth from a Zombie mouse.
- While you are hunting in Lab, it is time to stock up Super|Brie+ (SB) so you can convert them to Radioactive Blue (RB) later. There are many ways to obtain SB, the easiest way is to donate, other then that, you can do buy some and win some on the fourm. BUT DON'T BEG! No one like begger! You can also get 3 Super|Brie+ using the Mousehunt Toolbar's search box (just search any words you like)
- Once you have obtained the key and the cloth, stay in lab untill you have atleast 15 potions, if you plan to stay in Mousoleum (Moz) for awhile, you should stock up more potions, maybe around 30 or even more. Before you travel to Moz, buy a shadow trap from Town of Digby.
- Sinister Portal (Sin) vs. Ambrosial Portal (Amb). This is very debatable, but my choice will be Ambrosia because in Moz, attracting mouse is key to catching shadow-based mice. Combine this with Polar Base or Explosive to increase your power bonus.
- Try to stay as long as you can in Moz, convert your SB to RB one potion at a time, keep looking for SB until you get your Lycan mouse with Shredded Furoma Map Piece.
- Once you have your map piece from Moz, you can either stay in Moz until you reach Grandmaster. Or if you hate looking for SB on the forum, you should use up all your SB then move to lab until you are Grandmaster.
- If you plan to stay at the Laboratory, I would recommend having a FF/Deathbot/ Digby Drillbot and Polar Base or if your fortunate to craft a Partybot or purchased a Mouse Deathbot Chrome Edition it would be better
Tips on How to fast track your ranking and gold (Master to Grandmaster stages)

Since you will be embarking with a lot of ingredients buying and map-fixing, you'll need a lot of gold for this part of your daily hunting routine when you reach Furouma so the best way to get a lot of gold at this level (Master to Grandmaster) is to hunt at the Mousoleum. Shadow base mice give out 3,000 to 9,000 gold per catch depending on your trap.
It is recommended to use Bottomless Grave Trap with either Dehydration or Polar Bases to increase the chances of catching bigger shadow mice.
The Furoma Journey
Master to Grandmaster tips

- At the point you should have the Shredded Furoma Map Piece which you can get from the Lycan mouse at the Mousoleum.
- Go to the Training Grounds and obtain at least 415,000 gold for Zugzwang's Last Move for use in the Training Grounds
(you can always go back to Mousleum as Shadow mice gives out large amounts of gold). - Use the ZLM trap / Dehydration (or Polar) base to obtain the Ticket to the Burroughs Bazaar which grants hunters access to the Bazaar.
It can be obtained by successfully catching an Archer, Assassin, or Kung Fu Mouse in the Training Grounds. - Once you have the Ticket to the Burroughs Bazaar, you can go to Bazaar to have your Shredded Furoma Map Piece repaired to the
Cartographer (payment is 60K gold) while waiting for the map to be repaired, go back to Mousoleum to get more gold. - After one a day or less, you retrieve the Furoma Map Stitch to Access the Dojo, Meditation Room and Pinnacle Chamber.
- Stay at the Pinnable Chamber using ZLM and Wooden Base with Target until you get the Ambush Blueprint
The Dojo, Meditation Room and Pinnacle Chambers
The Quest for The Ambush Trap and the Onyx Stone

Getting the Ambush Trap and the Onyx Stone is one the the tedious task for hunter at this stage of the game because
it will take you several tasks before obtaining the Master Seal.
The Master Seal has 2 main purposes
1.) It is used to craft the Ambush Trap and
2.) It is used to craft Rumble cheeses use to bait for the
Master of the Dojo who will drop the Onyx
needed to craft the most powerful trap at the next level
which is the Arcane Capturing Rod Of Never Yielding Mystery
Here's my preferred setup when doing this tasks
1.) Setup your trap using ZLM and Wooden Base with Target (or if you have
Birthday Cake base).

2.) Hunt at the Dojo for Students of the Claw, Fang and Cheese Belt mice. Each will drop tokens from each respective Student mice. Collect as many tokens as possible in order to craft Combat, Glutter, and Susheese.
3.) After crafting enough Combat, Glutter, and Susheese cheese (about 15 to 20 each), hunt at the Meditation room. Collect one of each shard in order to craft the Master's Seal for the Ambush Trap and the rest to craft Rumble Cheese.
4.) After crafting the Ambush Trap (I would advise crafting this when you are at the Legendary to avoid failure) arm it and use the Rumble cheese to hunt for the Master of the Dojo which will drop the Onyx Stone.
Bristle Woods Region
Legendary hunters get to hunt the haunters

Going down to the depth of the Catacombs, to the stone gates of the Forbidden Grove and into the mysterious world of the Acolyte Realm.
Here are some tips for hunters on this region
For Catacombs
Purchasing the Obelisk of Slumber can help significantly in catching Forgotten type mice and also increase your chances on catching Shadow type mice. As you progress gradually obtain the parts for the Arcane Capturing Rod Of Never Yielding Mystery. (ACRONYM) trap .- Although Radioactive Blue cheese is considered to be the staple cheese of the Catacombs, hunters who bait their traps with Ancient cheese attract more mice so all your stale cheese won't be useless for long.
Collect about twelve scrap metals from Scavenger Mice as they are part of your preparation for crafting the ACRONYM trap. These are not an easy loot to obtain so better use a base with some luck attributes like the Polar or Dehydration base (I would go with Polar to increase the power also).
Stale Cheese Farming
Ran out of Ancient cheese? Here's a nice tip
The easiest and the most affordable way to get Ancient cheese is to craft 3 Stale Cheese with 6 Ionized Salts. If in case you ran out of Stale Cheese, Then here's what you would do:Hunt at the Pinnacle Chamber using the ACRONYM or Obelisk of Incineration and Explosive Base setup with Cheddar cheese as bait.
Since mice at the Pinnacle Chamber are tactical mice (we are using Arcane traps which are weak against tactical mice) and Cheddar cheese have the poorest attraction to mice (and very affordable) couple with uber stale effect of the trap setup, it will surely produce a stale cheese on every horn and trap check.
Whisker Woods
beginner's area expanded which included Calm Clearning, Great Gnarled Tree and Lagoon
You can only be obtained by successfully catching a Granite Mouse in the Harbour.
Hunting Strategy
Hunters in the Calm Clearing are advised to use a trap comparable to or greater than the Swiss Army Mouse Trap to hunt successfully. Using a lesser trap could result in a net loss due to the thieving mice. Hunters trying to catch the rare tactical mice in this area should use a tactical trap for bonus against the mice, although powerful physical weapons will also work without a penalty.
Cheese Usage
All standard cheese types can be used in this location. Hunters who wish to maximize their profits should use either Marble or Swiss. Alternatively, hunters can use Cheddar or White Cheddar and use a Base that has a high attraction bonus such as the Wooden Base with Target. Hunters who wish to achieve Master rank quickly should use Brie or SUPER|brie+ cheese, which have better attraction rates.
Great Gnarled Tree
The Great Gnarled Tree is a location in the Whisker Woods region requiring a minimum rank of Master and the Gnarled Tree Map Piece (which can only be obtained by successfully catching a Cyclops Mouse in the Calm Clearing) to enter. Mice in this location may steal points, gold, or multiple pieces of cheese if not captured.
Hunting Strategy: Hunters have several Trap Setup Options for the Great Gnarled Tree. Hunters in the Great Gnarled Tree are advised to use a trap comparable to or greater than the Swiss Army Mouse Trap to hunt successfully. Using a lesser trap could result in a net loss due to the thieving mice. Hunters trying to catch the rare tactical mice in this area should use a tactical trap for bonus against the mice, although powerful physical weapons will also work without a penalty.
It is also advisable to collect as many Gnarled Cheese Curd Potion which are dropped by Bear, Frog and Centaur mice. You will be needing those potions for the next area which is the Lagoon.

Lagoon
The Lagoon is a location in the Whisker Woods region requiring a minimum rank of Grandmaster and the map to the Lagoon, obtained by successfully catching a Fairy carrying the map in the Great Gnarled Tree, to enter.
Hunting Strategy:
In this location, there are mice of three different power types (Physical, Shadow, and Tactical). There are currently no traps that are effective against both Shadow and Tactical mice, so the hunter needs to pick the trap with the power type of the most desired mice. Alternatively, the hunter may consider using the luckiest available trap. Most of powerful mice here prefer Gnarled Cheese as bait so you should stock your Gnarled Cheese Curd Potions at the previous map.
Tips on How to fast track your experience points and gold (Legendary Level and up)
A must read for experience hunters
At this point of the game, having enough experience and gold preferably (16 million points and up) and about 5 million in gold will be needed when you are to embark your journey into the Tribal Isles.Frequent hunting at Catacombs and/or Forbidden Grove will rack up your points and gold with the ocassional visit at the Laboratory to replenish your Radioactive Blue potions.
Almost all mice on these areas worth over 2000+ in gold and at least 1000+ in experience points.
New Region: Rodentia
Ahoy Mateys!

This fine vessel has been granted permission by the King to sail the open ocean east of Gnawnia. Who knows what exotic hunting grounds are out there just waiting to be discovered..?
Warning: Before you engage this area, I am advising all hunter to have at least 1.5 to 2Million worth of gold because the materials use to craft THE SHIP (see wiki) would really cost you a lot and it doesn't include the cost of the the new traps and base.
Buy the Aqua Base First

Since both NetCannon and Harpoon Gun cost 600k+ It would be OK to buy the Aqua Base first (it only cost 124,900 ) and according to the wikisite: "A strong and lucky Physical trap"(e.g. Partybot or Chromebot) would be a good alternative trap setup on the SS Huntington,
Brie or Swiss is considered as a preferred bait in the location. There are some who said that Squeaken and Shelder Mouse would prefer Gnarled cheese and personally it's worth exploring that possibility if you have enough Gnarled potions.
Journey to the Tribal Isles
If you think your done with Furoma.. think again

The newest region wherein mousehunters will be treated with another long journey similar to the Furoma is the Tribal Isles
This six area region is composed of mainly 3 tribes the Elub (hydro types), the Nerg (tactical types) and the Derr tribes(physical types). As of this writing only the Cape Claw, Elub Shore, Nerg plains and Derr dunes are open to mouse hunters with the next major update will coming soon.
For more details about the region you can visit the Mousehunt Wiki.
Nerg Tribe Walkthrough
a short run on how I dominated the Nerg Tribe
Tribal Isle is by far the most diverse region in Mousehunt (and you might say Furoma region is just a cakewalk). I started my tribal isle hunt by hunting at the Nerg Plains. You need:
Trap:
Ambush - Recommended
Mutated Venus Mouse Trap
Base:
Polar
Dehydration
Aqua
Birthday Cake
Cheese
Gouda Cheese
The first order of business is to stock up Savory Vegetables which can be collected as loots at the Nerg Plains.
Once you have enough Savory Vegetables you can now craft Gumbo Cheese, which is the preferred cheese by the Grandfather Mouse ( you'll need the thorn vine from these geezer so that you can craft the next tactical trap for the higher level nerg tribe mice)
I would recommend getting at least 60 pieces so that you craft 30 Gumbo cheese.
Go to Caped Clawed and use Ambush and any base i mentioned above (I used Dehydration base) and the Gumbo cheese to catch the Grand father mouse.
One you got the Thorn Vine, immediately craft the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap.
Set sails back to the Nerg plains again to stock up the Savory Veggies so that you can craft Gumbo cheese to be use in getting Yellow pepper seeds and the Ancient Ripped Blueprint.
Once these are obtained you might wanna move to Elub Shore or stay at the Nerg plains for a while and rack up your points until you reach 12 Million points.
Top Ronza's Wares
Rating the limited edition traps and bases that Ronza sold over the years
1.) DeathBot (Chrome Edition) or Chromebot
Cost:512,800 gold
Points Required:136,500
Power:2,800
Power Type: Physical
Power Bonus:20%
Attraction Bonus:15%
Luck:30
Cheese Effect: Very Stale
Practically the best trap every released because of the highest luck rating and power bonus and the second highest attraction.
With this in your collection, your chances of catching an Acolyte mouse early in the game would have greatly increased specially if being paired with the Magma base.

2.) Magma Base
Cost:374,700 gold
Points Required:238,200
Power:300
Power Bonus: 8%
Attraction Bonus: 5%
Luck:10
Cheese Effect: Insanely Stale
The Magma Base is currently the best base which Ronza has sold since it has the highest luck so far. Its power is tied with the Explosive Base for highest, while the Magma Base has a higher power bonus with 8% compare to 5% on the .the Explosive Base. The insanely stale cheese effect is just a small drawback which doesn't really affect the base's upside traits

3.) PartyBot
Points Required: 91,000
Power: 2,850
Power Type: Physical
Power Bonus: 15%
Attraction Bonus: 15%
Luck: 25
Cheese Effect: Stale
With ChromeBot no longer available the next best trap set that can atleast do what the ChromeBot can do is the PartyBot.The PartyBot is currently tied for the third highest luck out of all the weapons, alongside the HitGrab Rockin' Horsey and the HitGrab Rainbow Rockin' Horse. It can be crafted with the DeathBot Parts and a Party Hat. The DeathBot Parts can be obtained by smashing a Mouse DeathBot. The Party Hat was obtainable from Birthday Gifts and the General Store in Ronza's Traveling Shoppe during her MouseHunt's Birthday Giveaway visit.

4.) Polar Base
Points Required: 90,000
Power: 200
Power Bonus:10%
Attraction Bonus: 0%
Luck: 4
Cheese Effect: Insanely Fresh
The Polar Base is a base that has seen several appearances during events. Its stats are a mixture of the Dehydration Base and the Stone Base. It completely outclasses the Stone Base, but it does not have the attraction bonus that the Dehydration Base has. Also, when used with any weapon stronger than, or equal to, the Obelisk of Slumber, it has equal or greater power compared to a trap setup that uses the Explosive Base

5.) Birthday Cake Base
Points Required: 0
Power: 175
Power Bonus: 11%
Attraction Bonus: 5%
Luck: 0
Cheese Effect: No Effect
The Birthday Cake Base has the second-highest power bonus of all the bases, behind the Tribal Base. Its stats are a combination of the Stone Base and the Explosive Base: a slightly higher power bonus than the Stone Base combined with the attraction bonus of the Explosive Base and a cheese freshness in between the two.

Kraken Chaos
The Kraken Chaos weapon is Ronza's only Hydro weapon to date, it's also the weapon with the least luck that she's ever brought us.
The major advantage of this weapon is that you can get it before you catch the Hydra mouse with the ship blueprints, and being a Hydro trap it's significantly better than anything else available to you to get that most elusive loot.
Giant Speaker
The Giant Speaker can be best summed up as the Partybot of tactical traps.
(Assume you're using the magma base)
First, it is very clear that the speaker is better than both the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap and Zugzwang's Last Move. With its low point requirement (only 91,000 points), it is an ideal trap for masters who need a strong tactical trap for the Great Gnarled Tree. Of course, the gold cost is rather prohibitive, which means that it is of most benefit to those who donate and sell the SB+ that they receive when they donate.
The real question is, just how much does that 22 luck help the giant speaker for hunters who are grandmaster/legendary (and as such are likely to have the necessary gold)? As was true with the partybot, high luck makes a large difference in what the trap can do.
First, up against the Ambush in Furoma, the speaker edges out against the ambush. The catch rate is better against every tactical mouse in the dojo, meditation room and pinnacle chamber. It also has higher attraction, which only helps matters. That means that if you own the speakers, you don't need to construct the ambush- a great sign for hunters who are not legendary yet and therefore can't craft the ambush yet.
HitGrab Rockin' Horse and HitGrab Rainbow Rockin' Horse
These two weapons are very similar, the only difference in stats is the Cheese Effect, so for the purposes of this we'll treat them as the same weapon, but if you want more stale cheese use the HitGrab Rockin' Horse, if you want less, use the HitGrab Rainbow Rockin' Horse.
This is the weakest of the weapons available from Ronza this time around and is available to hunters from Novice level and above, if you've been playing even semi-regularly for a few days you'll have the points required to get this weapon.
Compared to the nearest weapon in terms of power, the Swiss Army Mouse Trap, the Rockin' Horse outperforms it in every way, It has slightly more power, and the same power bonus, a much better attraction bonus and a mighty 15 more luck, the cheese effect is also the same.
At first it would seem like an obvious choice over the Swiss Army Mouse Trap, especially as it can be purchased at 1/5th of the points requirement, but the only downside is the gold cost.
At 158,500 gold this trap is over twice as expensive as the Swiss Army Mouse Trap, and that's an awful lot of gold for a Novice to try and collect in two weeks. If you haven't got a Swiss Army Mouse Trap yet, do your best to raise the gold, hunt often, enter competitions, contact the NVMRC for one of their programs, but don't beg for it, because beggars are not popular.
However, an important question would be how long can you continue to use this trap for? The next most powerful physical traps are the Mouse DeathBot and the NVMRC Forcefield Trap, and they're quite a lot more powerful, almost twice as powerful in fact, so is it worth you saving what gold you have for one of those instead?
Well the Rockin' Horse will see you well through all of Gnawnia, it's a bit weaker against the stronger mice, anything from Pirate / Ninja level and above, but does very well against the much more common weaker mice.
In Whisker Woods again it performs well against something like the NVMRC with the weaker mice, and only a small reduction in performance against the stronger mice, it should also bring a comparable number of Gnarled potions in, what you lose against the Centaur you'll gain against the other potion dropping mice.
But the Laboratory is where this trap will really shine, with comparable catch rates to the NVMRC against the Steel, Granite and Bonic mice, and the added Radioactive Blue Potion dropping potential of the extra luck, this trap should get you the loot you need a little bit quicker.
So in essence, this trap won't bring in as much gold and as many points as either the Mouse DeathBot or NVMRC, but if you're looking to save gold in the long run, the Rockin' Horse will allow you to skip buying those traps entirely, and get the specialised Tactical or Shadow traps a bit sooner.

The Snow Barrage is a limited-edition weapon which became available before Christmas. Despite having the lowest power of all Tactical type weapons available, it is known to perform admirably compared to weapons with higher power mainly because of its high luck, which is currently the second highest out of all available weapons. It is also tied for the highest power bonus and second highest attraction bonus and cheese effect.

- btw, you can also get access to Training Grounds (Grandmaster) by not only obtaining the shredded furoma map piece from a lycan mouse at the mousoleum, but you can also get it from a mole mouse from theTown of Digby. I think this is an easier way. But if you want to get the lycan mouse anyway for the gold, you should follow the guide.

- actually sinister portal is better for mouseleum - the key to catching shadow mice is Not attraction rate. When using radioactive brie, your attraction rate is already Extremely good so it doesn't really matter.
the best trap setup for mouseleum is sinister explosive base. this is proven in catch rate estimates (1000 sample size) that project how effective each trap setup is in each location.
